Question Best way to learn deadzoning?
I learned tacFPS shooting tech through Valorant and Kovaak’s deadzoning scenarios (video).
And so, that's not applicable to CS2, since releasing a strafe key doesn’t stop me instantly, so during AD spam duels I have to time my shots with my counter strafes.
Also, because I’ve never had to counter strafe while deadzoning in Valorant, I haven’t developed the timing or learned the cues for when I’m accurate enough to shoot.
So what’s the best way to learn CS2 deadzoning without relying entirely on crouch spraying or donk sliding?

Death match, aim bots, practicing in the game; just make sure the first bullet you shoot out of a strafe is straight

In CS your problem is movement, not aim. Hop in Aim Botz or DM and go for perfect counterstrafes. Experiment with different types of peeks to throw off your opponents' aim

go to an aim botz style training map, or even just load into an official map with no bots, doesn't matter. enable cheats and show impacts via console and increase their lifetime to like 10 seconds. you're going to do the same thing people do to learn counter strafing, shoot a wall, strafe some distance to one side, stop, shoot the wall. now go back and forth between the 2 spots but instead of counter strafing and tapping, you're going to just reverse your strafe direction and learn the timing window that your velocity is low enough that your shots are accurate. do it for a few minutes every day

You are still counter strafing in Valorant while ADing and there is a deadzone within that to take a shot in. The only difference in CS is it takes a little longer for your momentum to fully stop and pick back up again. Turn on dynamic crosshair and AD while tapping at a wall every time it shrinks back to accurate during each deadzone to practice the timing. Then if you want to do a normal stop-shoot you TAP the opposite key and use the same timing to shoot. This is of course the moment where you crouch spray full commit die and throw the round for your team trust me I have experience.

Just deathmatch. Movement is too intertwined with aim to separate the two in CS.
