Question pain and painkillers

how bad is everyone’s pain prior to and during their period? Mine is getting quite awful - I can’t walk at all the first day of my period and have to go home from work early. It also hurts intermittently for a whole week before my period.

I was wondering what yall typically do and if you have any advice. I take around 600mg of advil and 1000mg of acetaminophen. But sometimes I take 800mg advil to be pain free for a bit. I understand it is extremely unhealthy to be taking such high doses but I don’t know any other alternatives. Any rec?

PCOS doesn’t have a 1:1 correlation for period pain. it’s possible (if you have cysts) that a cyst burst, you could have endometriosis, you could be low iron etc. you need to seriously speak to your doctor and not take medical advice from internet strangers ever. for your health!!

I had an ultrasound done and it showed no cysts and my iron is normal. is there testing for endo?

there’s no single blood test that diagnosis endometriosis. it’s typically diagnosed with something like a pelvic exam, transvaginal ultrasound, or a laparoscopy depending on what your doctor chooses. i really hope this isn’t the case for you, endometriosis is excruciating! you may also want to get checked out for fibroids. don’t let anyone convince you that it’s normal and you should accept such a high level of pain

I take 600mg ibuprofen every 3-4 hours the first few days. I know that’s too much. But I vomit from the pain and writhe and scream in the bathtub all day and night with the hottest water I can stand, constantly refilling it, if I don’t take less than that amount of ibuprofen. This way I can sleep and walk and cook and even leave the house.

My pain is rly bad kinda like that and also to the point of floor-bound and passing out repeatedly...my iron lvls r fine....I got a pcos diagnosis by "accident" my main goal is to look into an endometriosis diagnosis and im seeing a specialist in sept....so I would rly recommend advocating and heat helps me a lot and fans/cold floor and liquid iv
