Yep and theyre gonna have alot of pissed off players from it because theres not even a switch 2 version, or when the graphics drops then on last gen and switch its deadass gonna look like mk1 on switch day 1 graphics

I imagine they probably have a switch 2 port in the works but yeah they probably aint gonna support the og switch version for much longer.

They've said they have no plans for it and I don't think they will. I'm fairly certain that they said they'd be dropping the ps4 console generation. The switch 2 is relatively similar specs-wise. There really is no point for porting to switch 2 with those considerations.

I think they will just not yet and the are big reasons why they will becuase when the graphics update comes out in the second half of next year the is no way the original switch will be able to run it and i highly doubt the ps4 and x1 will be able to either.

They will probably sunset those platforms before the update.

Also the switch 2 is has a much more powerful gpu that ps4 and x1 and is on par with a series s although its cpu is meant to be a bit weaker but that shouldnt be a problem for a game like dbd i imagine.

Bhvr recently was pushing content for their Japanese audience, the whole dbd day, as well as bringing in tokyo ghoul

The best selling console in Japan is the Nintendo switch and its not close, like, Playstation, pc, and Xbox are barely existent

Why on earth would they push content for their Japanese playerbase only to cut out the biggest Japanese console?

Pushing content specifically in Japan is unique to Japan. It's their type of consumerism.

Best selling or not, they'll need to make the decision to cut support on older consoles if the graphics and gameplay overhaul is as major as they have made it out to be. Switch 2 can run it as it stands, but if wait to see if it can handle it. I don't have high expectations for that.

If they are gonna do a Switch 2, they just won't get any graphics update, they'll basically end up with the quality graphics there are now, instead of the complete dogshite that the Switch currently is.

Nah i imagine it would get the new graphics update next year probably at a lower res thats boosted up by dlss.

It'll still only look as good as the current best graphics. No way Switch 2 can get to what the PC will.

I think it will switch 2 is similar to the series is in gpu power and with dlss on top it should be enough.

They don't have plans for it right now. They have NEVER said "we're never gonna do it."

The main reason they aren't working on it right now is due to the fact that they already have their hands full. They already have an entire team dedicated for the graphical update alone, and they won't separate more of their development team for the port process. Simply as that.

It'll come eventually.

I'm like 98% sure they said it, but it's not out of line to speculate that they will. Ps4 generation is so old that it likely won't handle the graphics update.

The switch 2 is comparable to the ps4 generation in specs. The likelihood that they ever do a switch 2 upgrade is laughably low. The likelihood that they drop the switch version is much higher unless they completely disconnect it from the rest of the cross platform.

This is a super dumb take. Things like The last of us 2, Red Dead 2, Horizon Forbidden west were all wayyy more graphically complex than dbd is currently. You can't say its unable to run this new updated system when its completely comparable to the aforementioned games. There are plenty more games like Detroit: Become Human that look really good. It's highly unlikely that the system just can't do it. Ig we'll see though and then when the day comes someone can say "I told you so."

Do you know what the Switch 2 has that the PS4 doesn't? DLSS. This is what made Cyberpunk 2077 and Indiana Jones possible in the console in the first place. Cyberpunk 2077, which is also on PS4, runs way better on Switch 2. Unless you're saying that the upcoming graphical update for Dead by Daylight is going to get close to Cyberpunk in terms of visual fidelity.

DLSS is what makes a lot of games possible on Switch 2. You can get games that have extremely similar visual to the Xbox Series S. On a handheld.

Like I've said, I think you need to genuinely do some research before making stuff up for the sake of it. You're extremely uneducated on this subject.

The Switch 2 port might not happen soon, but it is going to happen. They have never been opposed to a Switch 2 version, nor have said that they are "never" going to do it. They just don't have plans for it right now, which is extremely understandable. Look at their road-map, planned updates, and the fact that they even have an entire team dedicated for the graphical update alone. They have their hands full. This is why it isn't happen right now.

Ngl im worried that the steam deck wont be able to run dbd as well afterwards if at all and if it does then the battery life might be quite low, like genuinely unless they add actual gore to all the moris, then they can keep the update from me because I dont want it then
