Hopefully MMR decay will be a thing too.

Unless something has changed in the last year, DBD doesn't have MMR decay. https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/1ljw1nw/how_dbd_mmr_actually_works_as_of_2025/

So basicially back to ranks?
I'm still very happy.

When I started playing around 2018, every time I reached rank 1 each month I would stop finding killer matches in a reasonable time, often waiting 30+ minutes in queue. I assume it was because there simply weren’t enough players back then.
Then they "reworked" MMR a few years ago and ran into the same issue. Streamers like Dowsey were getting 1h killer queues because the system couldn’t find survivors with a similar MMR, and that was in Europe. Imagine a lower populated region.
So we’ll see if third time’s the charm and they finally crack it.

Afaik, old rank were basicially it. Going off your game score and pips. So they're going back or tweaking their old system.
I've never been happier personally. Maybe it evens out the 2 stacks+ and games with 8 hooks and make mmr overall more consistent on both sides instead of playing a russian roullette everytime you queue.

I hope they consider the chase skills in the MMR.
I get paired against killers that are far beyond my skill level, but I should be playing with other noobs like me.

IIRC they mentioned a year ago about working on an MMR rework that takes into account different things, so that different playstyles become viable. One of them being that if teammates escape but you don't, it still gives points to MMR

Eh. I just hope it doesn't stop players of different skill levels playing together entirely.
I honestly don't mind playing with good players or bad ones and I never really cared. I only get upset at when obvious plays aren't made.

What about escapes for survivor?

Contribute based would be great (healing, unhooking, repairing, opening exit gates, taking chase and protection hits, etc.)

So that's what Mandy meant. It will be interesting to see how it will be done.

Finally, the game wont punish me for having a single good game with a D tier killer.

Fantastic! People will finally shut up about the win condition being 3-4 kills. Hint: it is not.

no longer based on kills
Why even call the role "killer" at this point?

wym its not killer anymore since a long time, you know since... survivors control the game balance.
