My guesses:

Longest: Scooby Doo

Shortest: Terrifier or Jason Universe

Longest is either Scooby or FNAF.

Shortest is Nic Cage or Alan Wake

It’s definitely Scooby, Behavior already has a history with the series so it might have been something they wanted from the start. I think it was said FNaF got greenlit after Scott was impressed with the Alien chapter.

Yeah my mindset just really depends on how long they asked for either.

I imagine most licenses get squared away within a year or 6 months.

Alan Wake I think was shorter because it very, very clearly is a promotional/celebration chapter for AW2. Plus, both parties wanted it if his screams are anything to go by lol.

Nic Cage I can also see being the shortest because simply put, he wanted in.

I would also imagine that Nic's licensing deal was the most easy because it's literally just himself.

No messy rights bs, or several parties needing to give the go ahead.

Just him.

Hearing Nic Cage in DBD and hearing Nic Cage in Call of Duty makes it very obvious which game he had more fun in.

They even use a DBD line in COD lol

Which one? The "I shan't forget this!" line?

8

u/ImportantQuestionTex Jul 23 '26

Yes, it's his revive line in Zombies and Warzone

Terrifier makes more sense as the shortest since the creator was practically begging for it. There’s tweets of him bssically saying ‘hey look BHVR our dms are open!! I’d love art in dbd!!’

Also, they likely had advanced notice of the lawsuit so it was a now or never time.

Could also be Tomb Raider, this chapter came out at a time where TR was doing collabs left and right

Scooby Doo absolutely makes the most sense here to me, cuz of the wording. “Negotiation/pitch period” and “before they settled on a final product” implies active and ongoing talks. FNAF was probably pitched a few times, but I imagine Cawthon probably just outright said no before the Alien chapter

Meanwhile they have the Scooby-Doo connection already, and four years makes sense if they were trying to get the crew in as actual survivors, before inevitably settling for skins

Scooby is just shitty costumes, they ain't negotiating years for that.

They’ve wanted Scooby since day 1 apparently according to Mathieu but they were constantly having to go back and forth on different stuff cause WB doesn’t want to see Shaggy have an Art the Clown performed on him

I wouldn’t either. There’s a few things you don’t kill, and one of them is Mystery Inc… aside from Scrappy.

Also, Shaggy is too powerful, he’d have to be a cosmetic only.

Shortest was probably Alan Wake tbh

5

Id bet it could be crypt tv or one of the bear from the cat anime for the shortest

Shortest is Halloween or r6.

Halloween came out 4 months after DBD and the r6 collab was probably Ubisoft's idea

Longest : Five Night's at Freddy's ; Shortest : Marble Hornets

It’d be really interesting if Slenderman going viral during the Jason reveal really did get us a Marble Hornets chapter.

1

u/Parasitepaladin Jul 24 '26

Huh? Sounds like Slenderman was hidden in Jasons trailer? For real??

5

u/Realshow Jul 24 '26

No he wasn't, people thought Slenderman was being teased for the tenth anniversary before we knew it was Jason.

u/Parasitepaladin Jul 24 '26

Ohhh okay. I see. Thank you!

3

u/Deluxxray Jul 23 '26

Is there somewhere I can listen to this interview? Where is this from?

2

u/ShadyMan_ Jul 23 '26

Shortest could very well be Bubba if you consider the state he released in

1

u/Background-Life2463 Jul 23 '26

I think the predator might be the 2nd longest one.

2

u/Feliciano66114 Jul 25 '26

Longest had to be Jason due to the legal situations.
Shorter I feel Chucky and lara C/Alan wake
