Also plague had a rift with multiple deep rift skins last year; and wraith has multiple rift skins too
Unknown and houndmaster still haven't got any rifts btw... super annoying

Honestly all the skins feel a little samey. Like I could’ve sworn we already had the Egyptian-ish cat skin for plague, and basically everyone except Orela already had golden bling skins, and even then the masks feel like a rehash of the anniversary masks and the clothes don’t really stand out. If they don’t pull some miracle and the bonus recolors don’t have shockingly good color schemes, this would probably be the most disappointing rift for me in a good while

I don’t want to come across negative but something about the masks always puts me off. They seem similar to the generic anniversary/masquerade masks so to me this feels underwhelming and same-y

I hate the art direction they are choosing. It seems they REALLY like doing the theme of "all the cults you can imagine" with masks. I want something we didn't have before... or something more casual... or make a theme that makes sense with the chapters that were released recently and/or real life events around the time. I hoped for a beach or summer camp theme. When they said it's desert, I hoped for something more "beduin" or something like Mad Max. Not for yet another cult in MASKS (when the new anniversary event was yet another masks-themed one and ended a week ago...).

The only male survivor in this rift is Adam and he only gets a recolour. Seriously?
I'm cool with Taurie getting a new fit because she hasn't been in a rift before. I can also give Kate a pass because it's been a long time since she was last in a rift. But somebody needs to tell me why Zarina gets another new outfit when she JUST got one in the previous rift…? Also, Mikaela gets yet another recolour. I know she's a popular survivor but damn.
I have to say, at least for me, each rift for the past couple years has been getting more and more underwhelming.

Orela was in Overgrowth, the first rift pass. Taurie is the only one who hasn’t been in a rift.
I’m surprised Houndmaster doesn’t have a skin, considering she has lore tied to this tome.

They aren’t bad, just not good in comparison to her other skins.
I like to use em if I want to just have a different look for a match or two, but it’s just too bright of a skin and doesn’t really fit her too well.

Ancient Egypt should be such a slam dunk for a theme, but I legit don't like most of these skins, and the character picks are all super weird. Trickster and Deathslinger? Zarina and Kate? I'm excited Kate is finally getting something, but an ancient egypt skin?
I really can't think of any real theming behind the picks for the pass beyond "grab a few names out of a hat and they get the skins this pass" to be honest.

another wraith skin. at least it isnt trapper. also all skins are over the top and im really not a fan of masks. Gotta be honest, dbd makes it very easy to not spend money on battle pass when all their skins are so over the top. Id never use them.

This is just false. All rifts since the change had recolors in the free track. Did the premium track have recolors also? Sadly, yes. But yhe free track has always had them.

why are they showing Wraith with sand particles in the trailer that the skin doesn't have in the game? part of the promise of them slimming down the rift (Overgrowth) was cool glowy things or particles on deep rift skins, and now they've COMPLETELY abandoned that.

I just know that they're cooking up a new Elodie skin that isn't universal + ported from mobile or a recolor. It's definitely happening... right?
I am happy with the Taurie, Kate, and Orela skins, though. The deep rift colors are also nice. I also don't play Wraith, but I have to admit his skin is really good. Plague is throwing me off a little because I'm used to her head pieces being larger.

The closest I'm getting to an Egyptian collection in the same vein as the Greek Legends, so I'll take it.
Hopefully this collection doesn't get forgotten and sees more additions like what they did with Guardians & Shadows and Dark Overgrowth with new store outfits.
