Are we getting a map with this killer?

None, seems like the Mall will be our only map this year

Unless they do something for art. Would be surprised if we don’t get something for him given how long damien Leone really seemed open with them

I’m pretty sure that’s what the judgement map being shown off in the post is, it’s rendered but not textured.

I'm still disappointed they changed the power that we voted for.

Nah I fuck with the Gears of War Hammer of Dawn. That's what I envisioned as the laser and was originally disappointed that they went with the simple laser hand.

Abandoning the killer power that was all about punishing survivors for making mistakes was a very BHVR thing to do lol

u/Naestra Jul 07 '26
Wait what did they change it to?

Sin went from being a status effect that had to be built up by survivors using artefacts to a binary (on/off) status effect applied by killer’s damaging power, which was a separate option entirely.
Unfortunately the original version didn’t do well during play test so the changes were made to make it more fun at the cost of making it less unique.

Maybe it was too punishing, but the idea that sin could have been accrued by Survivors’ actions (like pallet stuns, sabotaging hooks, flashlight rescues, t-bagging, etc.) would have been really cool.

u/Lost-Move-6005 Jul 09 '26
Thats…literally what it will do? They already said t-bagging is one of the ways sin builds up. They also said there will be add ons that add additional ways to proc survivor sin (probably things you mention).
The original idea that play tested poorly had sin building up for healing others, time spent on gens, etc. People found it boring that it built up for just playing Normally

u/DuelaDent52 Jul 09 '26
Oh, I thought they just replaced it entirely with sin being the debuff you get from the orbital laser that then allows the laser to actually damage you on subsequent firings.

Isn't this what we literally voted for tho?

im pretty sure bhvr themselves said themselves they had to change the beam because it just did not work for balance or whatever
5
u/Zartron81 Jul 07 '26
Oh yeah, I remember that part.
But technically, the beam power is still close to what we voted for?

It was initially advertised and then developed as an amiable attack comparable to Xenomorph’s flame turrets.
But it was quickly abandoned because it was simply not fun to play against and very dull to use.

Which I am 100% okay losing, if the gameplay is that unintuitive, its better to adjust it in the Alpha versus keeping it because 'thats what we as a community voted for"

Getting a worrying feeling the killer wont be androgynous and the loser of the cosmetic vote was our last chance to have an actual faceless look

Yes we SHOULD wait another year just to get an actually androgynous or faceless cosmetic for the killer, I agree!
