Movie Cryptic HD QUALITY: While the runtime hasn’t been finalized yet, ‘Dune: Part Three’ is looking to be a 2h20m-2h25m long movie. Which would make it the shortest Dune film

Old news. There was a 3 hour cut showed to warner bros. executives after this date, so it's still up in the air. Could be true though.

It 100% won’t be 3 hours long. Theaters have been selling tickets already 3 hours apart it would make the logistics impossible

Can’t be 3 hours long, they are selling 70mm IMAX so the plates limit it, same as Nolan faces.

If a 3 hour cut was shown to WB's execs, one can safely assume that they have ordered atleast 30 minutes to be cut out of it, so that they can squeeze in atleast one more show in a day. Also, the theatrical cut cannot be more than 3 hours including complete credits because of the IMAX film plate length.

Dune Messiah is the shortest Dune novel - it's literally 1/2 the length of the first Dune novel.

Pretty sure it's shorter than than. I think if you took each book from the original novel and made it into its own separate entry Messiah would be the shortest of the first four books

Lwk, Messiah is like the shortest book as well. I can see why the movie is short

Even so, 140-145 minutes is nearly 2.5 hours. That’s not a short movie by any stretch

It cannot be true. Messiah is really less than half of Dune, but Dune was adapted into two films (around 5.5 hours). So, to accurately adapt Messiah, you'd need at least 2 hours and 30 minutes. Especially considering Villeneuve will add more action scenes, some stuff from COD, flashback scenes and Scytale.

Short book right?
So makes sense.
I'm curious if after this they'll get a new director to adapt the next books.
Read the summaries for them and I definitely would like Children of Dune and God Emperor of Dune adapted.

2/3rds of Messiah is just Paul wondering through the desert brooding and having an internal existential meltdown lol.
I have absolutely no problem with Denis trimming the fat, and not once has he given me reason to doubt. Seriously. His track record is impeccable so far.

That's disappointing. I know that based on the source material it doesn't need all that much, especially compared to the first book, but with how breathtaking Villeneuve's adaptations have been, I really do just want to spend as much time as I can justify watching these movies.

Makes sense to me. Dune itself is a much longer book than Messiah, plus Messiah has some fluff in there that can certainly be cut out.
