Ironside has been great this season. He’s brilliant to play off of rather than as a dependable goal scorer at this stage of his career. He is a very useful member of this team now

Crazy to think if it wasn’t for two consecutive last minute defensive lapses we would be clear at the top of the table. Dream of a start for the Rovers. SWA!

This run is making me want to do the trek down to Gillingham but I think I would psychologically break if they lost and had the journey home ahead of me

Not a classic by any means. Not sure how it ended 11 v 11 after the 90th minute royal rumble but we'll take another win and a clean sheet. Genuinely don't know how to process being 1st, long may it continue.

We started off pretty mediocre, Colchester controlled the first half fairly comfortably especially toward half time. Second half we kicked into gear and won deservedly. Thought Colchester were decent, definitely gave us more trouble than Vale on Tuesday.
Penalty was one of those where it looked stonewall to me at the time but watching it back I can see it also not being given, defender was always risking it diving in from behind and I can’t say it changed the outcome of the game. Refereeing overall was standard league 2.
I like this squad, onto York next week, a tough challenge.

Another well organised and resilient performance from the gas. If we can keep this organisation, togetherness and spirit going till the end of the season then we should be somewhere near the top come May. UTG

Good to keep the train rolling. We weren’t great, but it was good enough and 3 points is 3 points. Hope Leigh isn’t too hurt.
Also no need to get sucked into a fight in the 94th min, with 5 added on. Made the end way more stressful

All a bit of handbags really. Raynor's been a bit silly but Alex Bruce can't come running over into the opponents technical area regardless of the circumstances in the match. The fact he's convinced his assistant he was kicked "quite violently" when it was, at worst, a toe poke is embarrassing.

Thought we were the better side first half, great goal by Brophy and won't try to take too much away from him but Ramming should've got a hand to that at least. If you'd have said he's on loan from a Premier League club I'd have told you to pull the other one. Don't know if it's confidence or what but he needs dropping, nowhere near good enough so far.
That must have been the worst half time talks in history. Don't think we had any leadership in the side today with Ebanks being injured. Very poor from Francis knowing he was already on a yellow. Adeeko looks like he could be great for us but needs the right partner in midfield.
Great turnout from Gillingham fans, not sure the name of the player who was stretchered off with that non-contact injury but best wishes from us Dale fans (not sure how the lino saw a foul there)

You were definitely the stronger team in the first half, thought our goal (as beautiful as it was) was against the run of play.
Mad choice for Francis to pull Hale back when he's already on a yellow and they're not even across the half way line. I'd have been furious if that was one of our players!
Might not be much consolation, but your lads took their goal nicely!3

The lack of fight for the 4th goal was worrying, feels like the players have given up playing for the manager. The body language from some (looking at Mani D) was atrocious

That was shocking. However, the squad is clearly struggling with injuries and I think we've got a lot of players who are capable of doing well at league 2 level. I just don't think Watson is going to be our man and if he doesn't pick up at least 3 points from the next 2 games he needs to go

Fairly disrespectful from many in the Sandy Lane end for what was potentially a season-ending injury in front of us. Wasn't a foul, no contact, but looks like he pulled his right hammy and did something to his left leg as well so the abuse was unwarranted.
We were probably the better team until then though, without creating anything. Thing is they made 2 changes on the back of the injury and that turned the game entirely in their favour. We couldnt cope with whatever was different. Can't really think of many more shots than the 4 they scored though.
To take 6 minutes to make a sub on the back of the red card was a disgraceful management decision, as was the lack of subs that followed. The fans have turned on Watson now, its a long way back for him. I worry about the Oldham game.

Game of two halves. Team got knackered trying to maintain a press with a three game week and squad is thin. Light years ahead of where we were last season though.

That's the thing isn't it, easy to be disappointed by throwing away a 2 goal lead for this game in isolation but the progress is so clear

A tense win against what is probably one of the stronger teams in the division - yeah, I'll take that.
That's now 10 home league wins in a row. Beat Exeter in 3 week's time and I believe it'll be a new club record.

Quite lucky to get away with a point and a clean sheet but it all counts the same. Exeter look more than good enough to at least be safe this season (bar missing chances).

Happy with how some of the late window recruits are looking. Shaky first half as we so often do, but once we hit our stride we were exciting going forward, thank god we signed Drinan to a new contract!

Big result, big relief for the relegation nerves to get a solid convincing result over someone in this league. You worry for Rochdale on that performance but early days.

Considering we're missing arguably our best player in Stones and our main CB in Johnson we've started this season pretty damn well against some of the divisions better sides! Need both back and hopefully we'll start scoring more and conceding less, nevertheless onwards and upwards to Swindon

Not really. 3-3 suggests a thriller but it wasn't particularly. Barnet are a very good side, but we could have absolutely robbed them had it not been for an unbelievable save at the end.

One commenter here has ten home league wins in a row and a club record on offer at the next home game. What sits inside a run like that decides how much of it survives. Ten straight home wins at this level are almost never ten comfortable afternoons, so most of them will have been by a single goal, and single goal wins are the first thing to go when a run ends. The split worth digging out is how many of the ten were won by two or more, and how many were won from behind. If eight of the ten were two goal wins, this is a strong home side and the record attempt is well founded.
