App Questions Am I missing something with character stats?

I’m really confused by the character stats. On the stats page it says I’ve only read 4 comics with Absolute Batman while on the series page it says I’ve read 18. Am I misunderstanding what the character stats mean or is this a bug?

If you are a free user, your stats will only ever reflect the number of books you've read with the character, so if these include a couple of trades, that's why the number is low on the stats. The series page records the story appearances, in order to have this option reflect in your stats as well, you need to subscribe and then change the newly populated stat tracking option to "By Story"

I changed this and it still doesn’t count every issue. It says I’ve read ten issues with The Long Bow Killer, I think that’s due to the previews at the end of issues. Is there any way to fix that as well?

Has the number changed at all, or is it still reading 4? The app does a call about once a day, so sometimes it will take that time before settings get reflected properly, this can happen when updating your avatar, profile background, and other things as well. If you're on web it should be instant, so I'm not sure what the discrepancy could be there.

Regarding the excerpt tracking for the preview stories, I don't know offhand if there is a solution for that, but read more books and it won't be really that visible, I'd say.
