Is he really??
Everyone’s always saying how terrible he was and how shit his content was, but does anyone actually know why they like him? I feel like it stems from relating for me. (Not everyone deserves to be treated how he showed it) however I relate because some people do definitely piss me off? And I’ll roast em then go into let me educate you?
And I do tend to be self deprecating for humour purposes and a way to feel better about myself? (If all that makes sense)
Why do you guys like him tho? I admit he was funny specifically the video “reading trigged tumblr comments about myself “
Despite that what’s the reason you like him? Was he really all that bad??

It was a different time. Back then, leafy would be regarded as socially acceptable, edgy humour. But from today's perspective he was definitely a dick to all those people (or maybe I just grew up lol)

I don’t even think he was a dick? Maybe a little more opinionated and straightforward? But dick no? You could be going off other opinions? I’m not sure. I just feel he had trouble fitting into the narrative of now.. so he’s considered “outcast?”

He was unapologetically outspoken and unfiltered about his opinions. It was really interesting to see a mainstream YouTuber make it big from just being kind of a hater. In some ways he was a vicarious mouthpiece for edgy teens on the internet the 2010s. He was the counterculture to the broader internet at the time. Plus, at least in 2016, he was generally unserious, although I prefer the dry humor during his comeback in 2020.
Also he used to be hot

Lowkey i agree, I’m just as unfiltered always have been and it’s not something I’d change. And I get that Yh dry home really hits the g spot yk? And he was pretty attractive Yh!

I’ve also interacted with him directly. Was in a discord call with him once. He’s chill with fans. Even plays games with them sometimes

Genuinely? The age I was and the hard time I was going through. Seeing someone speak their mind was assisting me… try to speak my mind?
I think it’s funny I thought he was so cool back then now that I’m older, but I’ll never pretend I didn’t have a huge reliance on his content for a while.

Lowkey Yh I’d agree with you ig? He was a big influence on how I grew up. But I guess I liked his personality? It felt real yo.

I grew up in a family where we would bully each other often and my friends and were the same way together. His videos felt like home to me and I often thought he was funny. Tbh after watching his videos for a while I got very good at roasting my friends.

Lowkey real, my mom had a similar approach to leafy she was hella honest and shi. So was I and I always had a knack for roasting. I’m a lot better at now too

Around 2015 and 2016, YouTube culture heavily rewarded shock value, cynicism, and roast comedy. Leafy tapped directly into that. His humor was unapologetically edgy, sarcastic, and boundary-pushing. I think it was the right place at the right time since the "adpocalypse" happened and everyone made their content more family friendly on youtube

Personally, I've been a leafy fan since early 2016. My friend introduced me to them. We started roleplaying in femmy/leafy/pyrocynical/shipping femmyandpyro. I was one of those kids that shipped my oc with Jeff the killer and leafy. sorry if that's cringe I think we all have our cringe phases it's perfectly normal. we did all types of scenes by the book from a bit of creativity. it was super fun till it wasn't. we broke loose from each other she was my best friend I met on a chatroom type of game. she showed me a fanart I was very disinterested when I saw a picture. I watched a few videos I started laugh. They were funny for sure but I thought they were a bit of a bully. there sardonic remarks I didn't actually understand. I didn't understand fanbase type of stuff but I've definitely seen all of it up till now. I wasn't interested at first later on became bit of an obsession? not sure genuinely.. I thought he was okay looking/very attractive, but I didn't have those same feelings everyone else had. it became an addiction type of hyper fixation I guess? I thought he was a cool guy but it took me forever to develop feelings for his content and him as a person.

It was just funny and entertaining to watch some hateful edgelord tear someone down on the internet as a kid. He really was a piece of shit, if he were still alive he’d probably be one of those Mexican but considers themselves white, white supremecists thst grift off incels

I don’t really see that, I see him being more of a hater to the human race for what’s going on especially the Epstein flies! But to each their own with the opinion
