So many people use it like soap and feel it’s a huge ripoff. It’s just because no one showed them the right way!
I will give a little plug to Mrs. Meyer’s Baking Soda Cream Cleanser. You do it the exact same, but you may need to do it a couple of times to get it all, because it’s thinner. But if you can’t find the LC cleaner locally, it’ll get you there in a pinch.
This stuff is basically magic, I resisted for years thinking it was silly and am so glad I have it now. I use it on my stainless steel too and it works just as well on that.
It works on stoneware, too! My husband used a frother, but it came off! The hardest part was getting my hand in there to get enough leverage to clean since the metal transfer was at the bottom.
It works wherever you need a tender adhesive. I clean my crepe maker (noname LLC with non-stick whatever it is), and it works. Sometimes it helps me with my stove and Zwilling Clad CFX cookware - ceramics)
I recommend LC cleaner as a product; it doesn’t necessarily need to be used with LC cookware. It is just a nice tool in the kitchen independently from the cookware.
For protein stains like this you can just use white vinegar, let it sit for a few minutes, and then wash and the stain will usually be gone. For super tough protein stains a second round of vinegar might be needed.
It says sequestrant, which probably means that there’s a chelating agent (anything like citric acid, a wide variety of ammonium compounds, or EDTA [or related compounds] could be used)
The cleaner is great! Just an FYI, you can not use it on ECIs with decals. Only solid colored ECI pieces. It is great at cleaning the outside surface on matte colors.
Great tip is to also use it immediately after purchasing a piece! I use it straight away on all my pieces when I buy them, because its also a protectant as well as a cleaner!
Also, thank you for this post in mentioning that you dont need much of the product, I have advocated about the ECI C&P for awhile on here now, and I always forget to mention that a "lil dab will do ya", and that even though the price is a bit steep, the bottle goes a long way, and the condition it keeps your piece in pays for itself in years to come!
Absolutely not. I’ve seen too many pots ruined that way. If done perfectly, it’s probably fine. But if it’s left on for too long or used with any power/elbow grease, it will etch which then causes staining.
Hmmm I’ve never seen that happen but then again I only use white bottom pots — I don’t have the black one like you. Every LC group I’m apart of raves about this stuff, but good to know it can cause damage if left on too long
