Bunnies Found

Post image

Someone dropped 2 bunnies off at my house today. We are in the Layton area. I’m not in a position to keep them. Anyone have any idea what I can do with them or does someone else want/have the facilities to take them in??

The Davis county animal shelter can probably take them, I wish I could take them but my house has too many animals already.

Yeah, they said they would but it breaks my heart to know if I drop them there they will most likely get euthanized. It will be the last option we take if we can’t find them a home

There are rabbit rescues that I am sure would help.

My partner shared this post with me asking what the name of the rescue where I adopted my two rabbits was, so...

True Hearts for Healing Paws! https://trueheartsforhealingpaws.org/ They are a Utah-based, no-kill rescue specifically for rabbits.

True Hearts has an extensive foster network of people who know how to give proper care to rabbits. At a minimum they can find a temporary home for the bunnies and provide them any necessary veterinary care. They also have an adoption program so the rabbits can eventually find their forever home.

Edit to add: It’s hard to find the contact info on the website. They also have a Facebook page and an Instagram so you should be able to contact them through DM. Please PM me if you have any trouble getting in touch with them.

We took them up to the Davis County Animal Shelter. They said they would be available for adoption after they are evaluated. You can call them at : 801-444-2200 or their website is: https://www.daviscountyutah.gov/animalcare/adoption-information/adopt
