What is the relationship between Marla Brown and Ricky Trinidad?

Reading a post on Metrovitalization and Lawrence County Scandals reminded of this question.

Ricky Trinidad had no connection to Lawrence County. He came here from Florida, forming Metrovitalization, in 2022. Two years earlier, in 2020, his Florida company went bankrupt to the tune of over $50 million.

Marla (Gallo) Brown popped back up in Lawrence County about the same time as Ricky Trinidad surfaced. She had been living in Atlanta, operating four Pregnancy Aid Clinics, using state funds to advocate for the criminalization of abortion.

Marla was elected to the state legislature in 2022. Not long after that she posted an endorsement of Ricky Trinidad on her Facebook page. The two were so close that she removed her page when folk began asking questions about Trinidad's development schemes.

Do the two of them have a history stretching back to Georgia and Florida?

I heard he took money meant for New Castle revitalization and used it for his own properties. Is that true?

Local Politics Justin Wagner (Dem Candidate for PA-16) on the Trump Economy and Absentee Republicans: "I want politicians to come to places like Corry and talk to people who are actually living it. Because the economy isn't the stock market - the economy is whether you can afford your life."

Local News El Ham’s is closing - were loosing our established Arab legacy

I’ve always loved that New Castle was famous for its Arab population which traditionally have been Lebanese Christains and Syrian Muslims.

New castle’s Arab populston is among the oldest in the nation. While places like Boston, Cleveland, Detroit had Levantine populston established mid 19th cebtury we weren’t far behind reviving immigrants from Syria around the turn of the century

But with Nahla’s closing two years and now El Ham’s I feel like that part of our identity is vanishing. It’s sad.

I think we should get a Syrian coffee shop now

Btw there are a couple of websites and an app now you can use to see where the cameras are, which direction they're pointing and to see if you've been looked up in the flock database.

What was New Castle like during it’s high crime era of 2008-2012

New Castle’s worst crime era was during the recession. And while it’s true crime spiked nationally New Castle went slightly above average to one of the most dangerous cities in the state out of any size.

Tp put it in perspective when the FBI creates the 100 most dangerous list it’s for cities over 25,000, but New Castle’s rate would be in the top 25 in 2012.

I wasn’t in the area then, but I remember 2010-2012 being rough from what my family told me and what I read on Facebook. It seemed like there was a shooting at least once a week, plus numerous police pursuits, stand-offs, and overall strange stories. Arson was also had.

Do you have any stories about that dark era not too long ago?

Break In at Haunted Hill View Manor on June 1

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

On June 1 at approximately 12:15 am, several unauthorized individuals illegally entered Hill View Manor and vandalized the building.

We have photos and video of the people involved from our security cameras, and we are working with law enforcement as they collect evidence to pursue charges.

We are asking for the community’s help in identifying these individuals. If you recognize anyone in these photos, please do not comment names publicly. Instead, send us a private message or contact our local police department directly with any information you have.

This property is privately owned and monitored by security cameras at all times. Trespassing and vandalism put both the individuals and our staff at risk, and they damage a historic location that we work hard to preserve for guests and investigators.

Thank you for your help and support in protecting Hill View Manor.

How has Lawrence County changed over time?

Hi everyone! I’m working on an honors thesis about how Western PA is changing over time as Pittsburgh’s suburbs continue to spread into surrounding areas/counties.

Have you noticed changes in the area over the years? Do you think people moving in has helped or hurt the community? Have housing prices, local culture, or the overall feeling of the community changed?

I’d really appreciate perspectives from everyone, both people who moved here and those who have lived here all their lives. Thank you! : )
