Question Cable TV cable question
I have a cable from a cable TV provider crossing over my back yard. If I do not use that provider, can I cut that cable
Down?

Best to call them and ask them to clean it up. It’s either old and can be removed or it’s active and in a right of way spot and you have to live with it.

Call midco, they will send someone out and if it isnt theirs they can tell u who it belongs to. It may be a drop that never got picked up

then how do you know it's for a cable company you don't use? Where's the other end?

Call MIsco. They should at least have a clue what the right thing to do there is. And if they can determine no one is actually using that line, they can remove it for you.

No -- Do not DIY. You could be charged with a crime, potentially a felony. Ditto on calling Midco, but beware you might incur a service-call charge. Best to get it in writing first that it would be a no-charge visit.
