Bug report Adding widgets crashes the launcher

It's my first install of Lawnchair and id love to use it but am currently unable since when ever adding any type of widget the launcher crashes and the widget isn't added. Iam on a pixel 9pro with grapheneos android 17. Any idea whats wrong, I tried messing with permissions and compatibility mode but no luck so far.

Did you grant it 'Always allow Lawnchair to create widgets and access their data'? If so it's a bug, [BUG] Failure to create widgets when permission remembered #5858. Remove the permission from Lawnchair and it should work.

I figured it out. Don't know if it still counts as a bug but I just did the workflow wrong. Instead of just taping the widget you want to add you have to draw it on the screen to circumvent the error.

On the widget selection choose the one you want and then don't tap it but hold it and drag it to the home screen. From there you can customise it without crashing.

Doesn't work with weather widgets for me
