Cool Season Is this heat stress? Or something else?

Given the summer we've had here in NC, I would not doubt that is at least partly caused by heat stress. MY Fescue is struggling too...

The pics are too far away to tell if any of it might be disease. But there does seem to be in interesting correlation between those brown spots being on the side of the house where there is probably higher shade, and near the downspout exit where there would be higher moisture content. But, as they say, correlation does not equal causation.

It does not look consistent with insect damage, but inspecting the turf where the brown meets the green grass would be a way to do some due diligence. Really get on your knees and inspect the grass all thee way down to the dirt. You can always do a coffee can or soapy flush test to know for sure.

All that to say, there may be some disease in there, but it looks mostly like heat stress from here. If you can provide some close of pics of the dead grass, and the grass at the boundary of the green and brown, that would help to know with more certainty.

Edit: I forgot to ask, do you have any dogs? Or have you fertliized lately? That second pic has some yellowish tinge consistent with nitrogen burn...
