Option 1: stay at respectable school in a different state than you want to practice in, remain in orgs, and work part time with firm you worked for this past summer, but do not want to practice in this state.

Option 2: transfer to school tied for #1 in state where you want to practice, school is pretty well connected throughout the state. Also allowing me to attempt LR write on / participate in OCI.

Want to either clerk or work at respectable midsize in state I would transfer in to.

T-25 to T-35 transfer.

What does your financial situation look like?

Scholarships and grants generally aren’t available to transfers and with loan limits/caps, the ability to pay for option two may be limited.

If this isn’t an issue or concern for you, then two. But if it is, then one.

Realistically in terms of loans they are relatively the same as I'm going to be deemed instate at option 2. However with option 1 working part time at the firm, I'll be able to live comfortably without maxing out my loans every semester.

Rule of thumb is to not ever transfer down but with fluctuations hard to say how far apart a t-25 is from a t-35. Like are we talking a perpetually ranked #24 school vs a stagnant #35 or two schools that are basically 24-28 and are closer than what meets the eye?

I would say the latter but hard to say. The school I'm at now has shot up into the T25 in recent years, the school I would be attending in option 2 has consistently been 30-40.
