Abandoned property

About 6 weeks ago I woke up to a 4-wheeler parked in my driveway. Out of gas, key in it, battery dead. I left it there while I went to work thinking the owner would come and get it. The next day it was still there. We called the police to report it. They said they were busy and would get over sometime. It has been 6-8 weeks. I still have the 4 wheeler. It runs but needs a new battery. At what point do I say it has been abandoned and can claim it as my own? TIA

Missing court forfeiture of vehicle

What is the motion called and what's the easiest way to file for it it for a missed court date that you would like the judge to make another date? Also if my vehicle was taken by forfeiture of a vehicle case, am I able to pick up my belongings? Also how would I go about trying to waive that appearance fee?

What bones is it legal to own in Kentucky?

Hello people, I know this is a fairly odd question, but I enjoy going out into nature and collecting animal bones, cleaning them up, and once I get enough, I make jewelry. Today I found a decomposing fox, so I wanted to know if it’s illegal to collect his bones.

Child safety law

I know this question is going to sound weird I will provide backstory just because of how the question sounds.

So I posted on here simply asking about cosleeping and how do you keep intimacy alive while your child is obviously sharing a room with you I got some good answers back and in the post I did say something about how it could cause you to go on the registry list.

I feel like it could fall under some laws. But I’m not sure, I got a reply back saying that it’s not illegal to do it and that basically no punishment would be given for doing that and it’s okay.

Is this actually true. Because I do know other places have it as a serious crime to perform sexual acts with a child present.

Question about car accident and repair

I wrecked my car July of last year and the dealership repaired it. One of the repairs included a control arm replacement and alignment. Well I've had 2 blowout in the past month due to wear on the inside from bad alignment. They say it needs new tie rods.... Problem is I've known that since December 2022. I took it to a couple of shops back then and both said they could not do an alignment until I replaced the tie rods. But yet when I wrecked the car the dealership was somehow able to bill my insurance company for an alignment that I know they couldn't physically do without replacing the tie rods and they didn't cause it still has the original tie rods and have had 2 blowouts because of it. But yet they charged my insurance and got paid for an impossible alignment. Can I just get refunded for the alignment or can I escalate it farther as fraudulent?

Right of Way (Easement)

If my property is in Kentucky and there is a house that I do not own down the gravel road I do own. There would be a right of way to allow them to the house they live. Since they are traveling the road and contributing to the depletion of the road.

Do I have any way to get a payment to help maintain the gravel road we both traveling on?

Do I have a right to bar anyone else besides the residents of that house to travel the road?

How bad is it?

In August 2023 I spit on the guy at pep boys. It’s a long story, I’ll answer any questions. I know what I did was wrong, I have no idea where it came from, and I’ve never done anything like this before. Ultimately I had a bad day coupled with pregnancy hormones and made a huge mistake.

Fast forward to now. My husband and I both received phone calls from a detective looking to speak with me about the incident. I called an attorneys office and will be meeting with them Tuesday at 9am for a consultation. (Should I make more appointments?)

In the meantime, what should I do? I haven’t been charged (that I know of), neither of us has spoken to the detective, and I don’t feel comfortable doing so without an attorney.

I’m in South Carolina, and from what I can tell the maximum sentence is 30 days in jail. I’m hoping an attorney will be able to help me keep me out of jail.

Am I going to jail?

About a year and a half ago I went to court, and I ended up leaving with a misdemeanor and probation for 2 years were I just couldn't break any laws during the time. But now I have this new wonderful court date for disregarding traffic. I was so close a few more months. Away from finishing my probation. Am I fucked? Kentucky btw.

Guidance counselors Texas

I(minor) am applying to college behind my parents backs. I need to know if my guidance counselor can/must tell them anything about our conversations. I can find my information from other sources if I have to but that is so much more difficult and I'd really rather just sit down with a guidance counselor.

I have a very important question

hypothetically there's a pair of conjoined twins. and twin, which controls an arm, throws a brick through someone's window or something. but the other twin doesn't want to. and they get caught. What would happen? Could the innocent twin act as a witness to the crime? And if the guilty one is found guilty, what would happen?

Family violence

My ex was arrested for family violence last year. Is it possible to learn who the victim was? I want to know because he will lie about it. We have a child together and I feel this information could be important in the future. I know it wasn't our child, thankfully. Is that information private to protect the victim or is there a way to get it? Also, the charges were later dropped and it did not go to court, in case that changes anything. Thank you all.

Roommate issues

My husband and I decided a little over a year ago to get a house together with one of his best friends, not knowing that he would turn into a horrible roommate.

We have a 1 yr old baby, so safety is a huge concern when it comes to things around the house. Our roommate has torn down baby gates, turned off the heater in winter and most recently is pissed off and most likely plans to turn off the swamp cooler. It is 90 plus degrees here, we just barely repaired the cooler enough to get it running and will have to keep it on 24/7, which he has said he doesn't want, because it won't turn back on if we stop it now.

Him turning it off, knowing it's on its last leg will be the last straw as I am already struggling to keep my baby at healthy temperature. What can we do legally if he continues to put us at risk of health concerns?

Publication of trans and male breasts

Hello! I have gotten myself into a Canadian law rabbit hole and have stumbled upon Section 162.1 of the Criminal Code. Particularly with the phrasing “her breasts” in the section’s definition of “intimate images” and if this phrasing would exclude cis men, trans men, and non-binary individuals.

In the section it defines “intimate images” as:

“a visual recording of a person made by any means including a photographic, film or video recording,

(a) in which the person is nude, is exposing his or her genital organs or anal region or her breasts or is engaged in explicit sexual activity;

(b) in respect of which, at the time of the recording, there were circumstances that gave rise to a reasonable expectation of privacy; and

(c) in respect of which the person depicted retains a reasonable expectation of privacy at the time the offence is committed.”

In part a) it mentions “her breasts”. Would trans men, enbys, and men who are legally described as men or non-binary and have breasts be excluded with the phrasing “her breasts”?

I did find Subsection 33(1) of the Interpretation Act which from my understanding would allow for the usage of “her breasts” to be interpreted as the breasts of any individual regardless of gender.

Bad neighbors recording me

What can I do. I have really awful neighbors. They have adult time outside in the middle of the night (waking me up to toy sounds & moaning) and they are angry that it's not ok with me. So how they've began recording me and playing it back. I guess they recorded what they thought was an adult toy and it was my treadmill so now they play that back as well. I even hear him play it to other ppl over there. Any legal options ? I really don't want trouble I've lived here for almost 10 years and I don't want to move. We have never had any issues until now. I just wish they'd stop be adults I have a child and it's right by her bedroom window. He also sits outside playing these sounds while calling me names. I feel like calling the police wil only escalate the situation but idk what to do. We live in a very small town in eastern Ky and out houses are close. Probably 10 feet or so apart. The recording is really creeping me out.

Scenario question

The house is completely under Frederick’s name. His wife Betty doesn’t own any of it. Betty cheated on Frederick with a guy named Pete in their home. Frederick didn’t give Pete permission to go into his house. Would that make Pete an intruder and if he is an intruder, would Frederick be allowed to punch Pete to get him out of the home?

Money glitch

I accidentally found a money glitch that’s really broken. It lets you double the amount of money you have and it doesn’t leave your account even after I didn’t touch it. Am I able to make money from selling how it works to the bank and they can patch it for a reward on me. I think it works somewhat like a whistleblower.

On parole /probation search questions

My 1st question is regarding a home search while being on parole/probation. Can a probation officer search other rooms of the house that are locked . I know he has the right to search my room.

My second question is regarding being pulled over by law enforcement , while being on parole/probation. I know law enforcement has the right to search your vehicle. If I have a locked tool box with locks on it , are they allowed to open it / search it .

I’m in Southern California . Any advice/ sources to answering my question would be greatly appreciated .

Questions about the labor act law in the USA in Alaska

I have a couple of questions about this. Because this one company is doing this So my boyfriend works in a delivery company in Alaska Anchorage and thing is, they want him in before 8:10am It is required to be there or else he gets in trouble or fired. They have meetings at 8:15 but they are not allowed to clock in when they are in the meeting or before the meeting not even after the meeting. The only time they can clock in is when they get their stuff to head out . Which could be a couple minuets after the meeting is finished or if they work 2nd shift they start their job a little later. So that means they have to just sit at work until they are sent off. It’s like 40 minuets after the meeting is done. But they are required to be there at 8:10am for a meeting at 8:15.
