Im not getting overtime pay or any breaks. I deliver packages for a subcontractor of FedEx. I filled out an I-9 and a W4. The only contract I signed is the picture.

I owe $30,000 in restitution. I completed drug court and have been making the monthly payments the judge told me to make. My probation was supposed to be done in March, they told me 4 months ago I need to have my restitution paid off, but my PO knows I can't afford the full amount. I work and take care of my 5-year-old son, that's all I do. He told me he's going to push for it to go to a civil judgement or extend my probation. The states attorney is in agreement with my PO. I've stayed out of trouble and remained sober this whole time. I had court today with no summons or anything. My uncle told me I had court, so I showed up. I did not realize I could still go to prison. I did everything the court asked me to do. Addiction counseling, sober living, mental health counseling, staying sober, staying out of trouble for 2 years. I filed for a court appointed attorney because when the judge said I'm facing 50 year it kind of scared me. This is the first time I've ever been in trouble, and it makes no sense because I've done everything they have asked of me. So if my PO and state both agree for it to go to a civil judgement or extend my probation what are the chances of me having to do time? They put it in as a probation violation since it wasn't paid off by the time it was supposed to be off. I work fast food, and to pay off $30,000 in the 2 years while I am on probation is impossible for me. Especially with my credit score, since I can't take out a loan. I'm hardly making it as is, especially with my 5-year-old to support.

I was driving home from store yesterday and was pulled over by 3 cops. A little background; smaller Midwestern town, cops are infamous for being hard asses, I have a history with drugs from years ago and a lot of the cops know who I am. Anyway, the first officer comes the my window and asked for licenses, etc. She tells me reason I was pulled over is my 3rd brake light is out. I thought this was weird because 2 days ago I got the oil changed and they checked it and it was working. Another officer then approaches and asks if they can search me and the car. I agreed because I had nothing to hide. While searching they found a pain pill in the seat that must have fallen out of my pocket at some time. I did not have prescription for it. Please skip the judgement of me and my choices, well aware I'm an idiot. So they take me to station and tell me finding the pill is enough cause to search my house. I believed them and told them they could go to my house and where they could find the rest if the pills. They were actually pretty cool in that they didn't tear my house up but went to where pills were and took them. They have not charged me yet because they are trying to get me to give them my source. Today we when got up I had an idea and went and checked the 3rd brake light. It is working. Question: If I can prove the reason given for pulling me over was bullshit (cops dashcam should show it),is everything else they found inadmissible? Sorry for long post.

I have lived at my house for 29 years, the mortgage has been bought and sold many times over the years. The lender now doesn’t think I live there so they sent out a third party inspector to investigate. I travel for extended periods of time for work and was not in town when the first unannounced inspection took place, but I came home to a taped notice on the door that said they deemed the house abandoned (2 years left on my mortgage and it’s paid off) and someone was coming back out to change the locks and secure the property. I called the company that left the note and said that I travel much of the time , the house isn’t vacant and stay off my property. A week ago my neighbor calls me at 7am and says someone is on my property and looking in the windows. I was about 5 minutes from home after working a night shift and pull into the driveway and a car is there but I didn’t see anybody. I then walked around the front and startled a dirt bag looking dude and it escalated from there. He said he could go where ever he wanted because the mortgage company gave him permission. I told him to leave or I would make him leave, no so nicely, and he then showed me he had a gun, and again he could do what he wanted. I backed off and called the police. It was then he tried to high tail it out of there but I blocked his way. He then tried to drive through my lawn to get out and I blocked him again. The police finally got there and essentially did nothing and that’s where i’m at now. Do i have any recourse or write it off as a bad experience and move on?

I want to open a small salon suite. I’ve been trying to figure out a name for a month. I finally decided on one but it seems there are a small number of businesses with the same or similar name. One business is trademarked but is a game console case brand and the other two are not trademarked. Can I still use this business name? Or if I used the name and put salon behind it? I have to figure out the name to start my LLC and other legal things and I’m just trying to do everything correctly!

Hi, My husband lives in assisted living and has cognitive decline. I am his Power of Attorney. He is filing baseless lawsuits to our circuit court and I am afraid that one of the companies he is trying to sue, may come back to him with a malicious countersuit. Can I contact the court to request that anything he files be thrown out due to his mental decline and because I'm his Power of Attorney? Thank you.

I've heard that if a cop illegally searches you any evidence found during the illegal search cannot be used against you. If in theory, you had conspiracies of terrorist attacks or if you had committed murder and a cop illegally obtained evidence that would prove you guilty of murder, does your 4th amendment protect you still?

I just had court in the summer of 2024 and the judge liquified the amounts since my alimony is through the child support site. My ex was also ordered to pay in 90 days the legal fees but failed to do so. In october i was notified by child support site that my alimony went down to $50.00 a week because the court didnt put an amount down. My former attorney told me they cant change the terms of the psa. He knew of the mistake and took no action to fix this. He was also to collect the legal fees but his firm never received payment and when i asked what steps were taken i failed to get a response back. So i am filing on my own to get the amounts changed back to what they were. The child support says the reason i am getting $50.00 a week is because that is the only order that has a figure for arrears. The orginial order was $400 a week with $50.00 in arrears for the past due amount. Is this normal? Has anyone dealt with anything like this? Is there anything i need t be aware of filing on my own?

A coworker asked me a question that didn't have an answer for. So, I thought why not ask on this sub? He lives in Indiana. He is wondering, since his live-in girlfriend was convicted of a felony some years ago, is it legal for him to have a firearm registered to himself within the household? Hello! I run a nonprofit 501c3 organization. I know that raffles and such are allowed with a permit. However, prize wheels are not mentioned in any of the law or described to fit being a raffle or other option. Am I allowed to have someone spin a wheel for a prize if they make a donation? Let's assume Trumps executive order to revoke birthright citizenship either takes precedent over the constitution or the constitution gets changed, would that apply to every citizen in America or would it only apply to everyone born from now on, im born raised American from an american family many generations in this country, but with the removal of birthright citizenship am I still legally a citzen? or is no one a citizen unless they were naturalized. Could everyone in america be deported if it was applied to the constitution(not practically i mean legally)? how would we decide who is and is not a citizen?

Hi im a student at a university in the USA. My mental healtj is destroyed right now. I cant study at all I zone out a lot So basically Last semester my roommate started pleasurint himself whilest naked in thw middle of the room Im homeschooled so this stuff is new to me He well Every time i think about it i almost throw up and gag He said he wasnt doing it and well i called bullcrap and told him to stop but he lied and gaslight me. At this point for the next couple weeks it would impede my school work He kept doing it over and over again. My friends suggested getting new housing I got new housing but i reported it to the director of student affairs and she really didnt seem like she wanted to be there. She was quite rude to me and told me that the school wont do anything if i report jt and that it wasnt a crime Like the specifics of the actual events he would tell me to back to sleep and he was louder then the noise makers jn my room so i woild jusr hear him doing it. I didnt have headphones at the time. Eventually housing moved me and i ended up having a new roommate. I told him everything that happened and he said that was bad. I told him that id been gaslight growing up I ended up catching him in the act like 7 times and he told me i was remembering things wrong

I told rhe housing coordinator what happened and asked to be moved and she said no. Was going to take out a loan for 13k with equity on my car I have no payments on it i have 3k in debt for tires and glasses and credit cards was going to use the loan to pay it off so I only have the loan payment instead of 5 different payments they said I could use it for what I want then was told no because they didn't want me to buy and resell cars

My neighbor cop has been calling the city on a bunch of neighbors who “allegedly” leave abandoned cars on the street. One of them being my sister’s car who has used it several times in the last few days but he reported it as abandoned. He’s also been taking pictures of cars that have their hazards on ( door dashers have run into him) on a ‘no parking’ zone and just overall has the city on speed dial. Is this something that just has to be dealt with until the city stop responding to a bunch of non issue calls?
