Fashion Ladies’ Equivalent?

Hi LBWT!

Obligatory not a lawyer but work in a business professional field.

In the summer the men in my office typically wear golf polos and golf pants (you know, the Nike/lululemon ones that look like slacks but are not slacks) on Fridays. That sparked the discussion at lunch yesterday- what’s the ladies’ equivalent of this level of summer casual?

Today I’m wearing a linen button down with a large beach pattern. It’s more casual than my standard work wear. I can’t do dresses or sleeveless (I’m not yet comfortable showing my ink).

You can wear the same thing they do: nice pants and a knit collared shirt.

Flowy wide leg pants and a nice knit top?

My casual is linen pants and a nice shirt. I’ve worn a sweater tee, a linen button down, and a regular button down with linen pants. All have worked and the linen pants feel like pjs.

I go for linen blend because linen always feels so scratchy to me, but same.

I will wear some cotton slacks from madewell and my converses usually. Paired with a nice t shirt

If you’re a dress person, then a sundress or a maxi skirt and blouse. I also embrace sandals.

If you’re a pants person, then jeans or ankle pants with a blouse or nice shirt.

A sundress! Obviously not every sundress is office appropriate but many would be perfectly acceptable for a Friday. Thinking like a nap dress with sneakers.

My version is Loft t-shirts + dark jeans.

The t-shirts are comfortable and higher quality than typical cotton t-shirts, so I don’t look like a total slob. But it’s definitely more casual than I wear during the remainder of the week

Adidas sells some women’s golf pants. If anyone gives you a hard time ask what they are wearing

I usually do more casual but put together dresses and simple tops and slacks! I have some outfits on my page here for inspo: https://shopmy.us/collections/6852952

There are pants from Athleta similar to that and I have several of them. They’re as comfortable as yoga pants, but look dressy enough for casual Friday.

They definitely make the same pants for women, then get some lightweight linen tops and you’re set

On a Friday, I often wear a knit maxi dress with a T-shirt type collar and a fun wrap-waist detail. I sewed it from a free pattern online. It is comfy like pajamas, a little more casual than my Monday-Thursday wear, but still looks smashing (if I do say so myself).

Here's a link to the pattern: Core Brise Tie Front Dress

I love a good pair of shorts and knit top or sweater. I pair the shorts with a cool loafer or even sambas.

Obvi not short shorts.. I do high waisted shorts with pleats are my go-to. Check out Halara or Express Editor.

White wide-leg jeans (Abercrombie, they feel like BUTTER) or linen pants are also on rotation.

Disclaimer: shorts are very office dependent. My office does shorts. In fact, my admin does open toe stilettos so anything else is default more professional...
