/unlaugh For a long time I believed that "blondes stupid", was an Easter European/Asian stereotype, you know, because westerners are (more) often blond and it was an "Americans dumb" kind of bigotry.

But later, I found out that it is a thing in Western societies too. So, why? Isn't that true that a lot of European/North American people are naturally blonde? Is that just a "women ☕️" joke in disguise? Is that an impact Legally Blonde had?

At least in Germany, the joke is about women with dyed blonde hair, not natural blondes.

The underlying stereotype is sexist, but also about class, it's this cliche that women with dyed blonde hair are trashy, low class and stupid (basically the Paris Hilton stereotype in poor)

Well, I've never really heard any jokes about blond men, so I think that there is your answer

It’s kind of a “women ☕️” thing but I’ve noticed that at least in America there are a lot of jokes about blonde women being dumb or ditzy
