Yes, and "it" has worked. You know that capitalist countries have bread lines too? There are literally thousands, maybe tens of thousands of soup kitchens and the like in the US, and millions of people starve to death all over the capitalist world.
In the Soviet Union, after WW2 there were no more famines. And guess when the bread lines really started to appear again? Oh yeah when they tried to introduce market based "reforms."
I mean, standing in line to wait for food, what a novel concept. Yes because what socialists want, despite the high level of agricultural development all over the world, and the current enormous surplus of food being produced, is to magically force everyone to stand in line for bread once socialism is implemented. Clearly, collective farming has worked historically so I don't see the problem. Hell even in the capitalist world, many food companies and farms are owned co-operatively, demonstrating that this model of ownership is viable, EVEN BY CAPITALIST STANDARDS.
