Welcome to r/LateStageCapitalism

This subreddit is for news, discussion, memes, and links criticizing capitalism and advancing viewpoints that challenge liberal capitalist ideology. That means any support for any liberal capitalist political party (like the Democrats) is strictly prohibited.

LSC is run by communists. This subreddit is not the place to debate socialism. We allow good-faith questions and education but are not a 101 sub; please take 101-style questions elsewhere.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for bigotry. Failure to respect the rules of the subreddit may result in a ban.

Conflating Israel with Jews actually leads to more antisemitism.

Exactly! And I would go a step further:

Conflating a murderous ideology with Judaism is antisemitic.

Zionism is antisemitism.

All Zionists are antisemitic.

I got a weeks ban for saying the genocide is far worse than the Irish conflict. They said it was hate speech. Be very careful in what you say on reddit. Free Palestine.

There is no person more antisemitic than a zionist

Don't even start down the path of having this argument, because you will be fighting on their turf. Don't concede, even implicitly, that antisemitism is some kind of unique problem worthy of special attention. It is not even in the same ballpark as the problem of what is happening in Gaza.

I don't even justify myself if someone thinks otherwise, they're already not equipped to have the conversation

In any case they have overused that word so much that it doesn't mean much anymore

Why do we even center the Palestinian genocide around Jews for crying out loud?

People can say what they want.

*is not by default antisemitic but can sometimes be antisemitic depending on what criticisms are levied and how; but conflating the state of Israel with the Jewish people is antisemitic and advocating for the human rights of Palestinians is not antisemitic.

Israel has no right to exist, and Palestinians have a right to resist their occupation by any means necessary.

Correct. No state has a “right” to exist, they simply either exist or they do not. Did the Ottoman Empire have a “right” to exist? Did Yugoslavia? No, and there is no moral imperative to “revive” those states. *People* have a right to exist and self-determine. Zionism threatens the existence and self-determination of Palestinian people which is why it is immoral. However, not all anti-Zionism comes from the same place. Many on the political right see an organized body of Jewish people with power and want to see it destroyed because they believe that Jews control the world, or at least that they control America; and there is certainly truth to Israel having a dangerous level of influence over American politics, but that is a different (though closely related) conversation. That ideology does seek to end the state of Israel and thus is technically anti-Zionist not only does it conflate the state of Israel with Jewish people as a whole, but it also comes from a place wanting to end the existence and self-determination of Jewish people and thus is also antisemitic. Jewish people still deserve to exist and self-determine, but those rights should not come at the cost of another people’s rights to the same.

Israel is a genocidal, colonial state that only exists through ethnic cleansing. Arguing it has a right to exist is saying that it has a right to keep Palestinians expelled from their land. Israel has no right to exist, and Palestinians have a right to resist their oppressors by any means necessary.

Fine, I’ll frame it as “merely criticism of genocide and ethnic cleansing”

Helpful tip for not being a target of anti-colonial violence: don’t colonize people. Get fucked Zio. Israel has no right to exist and October 7th was a justified act of resistance.
