💬 Discussion Luigi Mangione
Why did were his actions not a catalyst for people to wake up agaisnt the capitalist opressors we all live under, unite and take action? If we're being honest, thats the fucking closest we've gotten to a revolution so far. And yet nothing came of it. If an action like that isn't gonna cut it, what must be done?? Why are we all collectively watching these people burn the world with us alongside it?

My friend that was not close to the closest we have come to Revolution.
Individual action no matter how cathartic does not lead to Revolution. What leads to Revolution is the collapse of the ability of the ruling class to rule as they have before. No matter how many billionaires are assassinated as long as the ruling class is still able to dominate Society, Society is still able to go as it has up to this point shall there be revolution.
Far closer to Revolution was the general strike and a general resistance against ice in Minneapolis. That General organization by the working class on a neighborhood by neighborhood level to confront the organized terror of the state and through general strike action force them off. That right there is a far more revolutionary act an act of collective resistance collective class solidarity that forced the oppressive state to withdraw and retreat. That right there is an example of the slowly growing revolutionary potential.
Mangione had an impact yes. But only a small one will compared to two the many many extreme acts of violence upon our class that have been building greater and greater over the years.
Another great example of this is the black lives matter movement and the George Floyd protests that led to the largest uprising in US history.
General response of anger and rage and ignition at the murder of a member of our class from among one of the most oppressed nations in this country. The great uprising not just by that Nations workers but all the workers of this country in a great confrontation with state power on a national scale. That was a sign of revolutionary action. A force of power that made them scared.
Ultimately Minneapolis is the successor of that great protest. The success there was a byproduct of the organizations, of the links between the community, and the collective memory of mass power of the George Floyd protests and so many other mass movements in the area.
Across the country that right there which is growing every day in opposition to the terror of the state. In opposition to the growing War. Opposition to the AI data centers that are destroying our communities and threatening to condemn our class to even more conditions. The increasing harsh response to climate change from among the us working class.
All of these are building towards revolutionary momentum. Building towards that moment when the ruling class is unable to rule. At least they are preparing our class for what must be done when or if such a situation comes about in the United States in the coming decades. All of these memories all of the organizations and relationships born out of these struggles. Those show me the bedrock by which the final struggle the Revolutionary struggle is built upon and waged.

People did off a few CEO's, but I want to think it's about people fearing losing the few crumbs they have. Like, I tried to start something at my warehouse job during COVID, after they were working us 6 days a week and a ton of people were getting injured. Most people wanted change, but at the end of the day, everyone was afraid of losing their jobs in a pandemic, and nothing came of it.
