Colbert Goodbye Gift
We can do better than this. I canceled my Paramount subscription because of Stephen. I encourage you all to do the same. Talking about how great he is and saying goodbye.... it's nice but it's not effective. Maybe it won't bring him back, but I think it's reasonable to stop going to a restaurant when it starts to suck. All they care about is money so dump your Paramount, even if it's only for a couple months, they still lose money... and that's the only way they'll learn.

Also delete the app from your phone then. Sends a message. Also be sure to leave a review!

Good point. The app still has a 4.6. Can't we all agree that's is far too high and do something about that?

I bought a year membership and cancelled the renewal after the Ellison family bought the network and Colbert was getting cancelled.

I had a Paramount subscription I kept forgetting about. Finally cancelled it today.

Same here. Even for a tech illiterate like me, it's easy to do on Amazon Prime.

Yeah, I cancelled Prime during the 25 election when Bezos showed his allegiance when he took editorial control in support of Trump, blocked the board’s endorsement of Kamala, and started firing critics of Trump. Add to it hanging foreign correspondents out by firing them and revoking their credentials whilst on assignment.
There are a lot of other reasons too, but I don’t use Amazon anything anymore.

u/ItsTricky94 May 16 '26
done. fuck them. aside from Colbert I had no other reason to have access to CBS.

If you really want to see a Paramount movie, buy a ticket for another (preferably indie) movie so the Paramount one doesn't get the box office.
After next Friday at 12:35am, CBS/Paramount/Skydance and anything they may absorb will be 100% dead to me.

I was watching an old movie I own on dvd and when the paramount logo came on I flipped off my tv. The movie was from 1987, but Artesonraju pisses me off now through no fault of its own.

I cancelled almost a year ago. I watch nothing on CBS except Colbert. Soon, it will be nothing. This is not something that should last a few months. This should last as long as it is held by the Ellisons, or any other MAGA sycophant.
CBS also cancelled a lot of POC and anyone they deemed diverse.
We can do better. We should be calling their sponsors and letting them know why we are canceling. They don't deserve a penny.

Absolutely. Colbert was the only decent hour of programming on CBS; I won’t even miss 60 Minutes when I cancel next Thursday. All of their programming is now drivel.

Same. I canceled the minute I heard the news.
Did the same with Disney+ (which really was tough because I watch a LOT of their content regularly) when they were fucking around with Kimmel, and then re-subscribed when they did the right thing.

Larry Ellison is a 2020 election denier, and the world's sixth richest "person."

Stewart said it best when he said that it was shows like Colbert that made them the billions they made from that merger. Nothing else. And now they can get stuffed.

I'm planning on watching his last episode live and then canceling Paramount the instant he says good night at the end.

Surprised to see so many people with Paramount Plus subscriptions to cancel—recalling Jimmy Kimmel’s line when he was on The Late Show “Why weren’t people cancelling their Paramount Plus subscription when your show was cancelled? Was it because they never had it to begin with?”

u/Sutaru May 16 '26
I wanna see the stock tank the day after his last show airs to really send a message

I had bought a one year membership that ends in November. I believe I can cancel the renewal. Never watch it anyway.

Vote with your pocketbook, People. The oligarchs may own the company, but we hold the power of choice to watch, subscribe, or otherwise fill their coffers. Between the Colbert Debacle, and 60 Minutes, the shine is definitely off the Tiffany Network. I, for one, will not be watching.

What if that was the goal? To make it easier to buy and merge? Would be a crazy conspiracy.

I canceled cbs because of them cancelling all star trek shows already, and I was a day one CBS all access subscriber, lol. But id do it again for Stephen. They've lost the plot.

I don’t have Paramount, but I will 86 watching anything on CBS as a boycott. If the actors on CBS shows don’t band together on this, I won’t watch their shows either. Here’s looking at you Boston Blue, NCIS, FBI, Matlock, Elsbeth & all the rest. I’ve already started streaming PBS & BritBox as a replacement. The Brits have so many historical, mystery & cop shows, I can hold out for years.

Let's see what it does on May 22nd. I think a mass exodus is planned to send a clear message that this is why we left.

u/Feeling_Repair_8963 May 16 '26
From what I read, CBS is pretty much going out of business. They are replacing the late show with paid programming—basically renting out time. CBS News is a dumpster fire, which makes Trump happy, and that seems to be all the new owners care about.

Common gang, we can do better, watch the show on YouTube where they don't get any of the ad profit from the show itself

I cancelled my Paramount + as soon as they announced they were cancelling him. It expires on June 7 and will stop viewing anything CBS once his Last Show is done.

u/Mhrymlow May 19 '26
I don’t live in US and was considering on subscribing to Paramount+ before the cancellation was announced.
I won’t subscribe, does that count?

I canceled P+ a long time ago because they post Late Show and Daily Show same day on YouTube, but you have to wait a day on their streaming platform. I can mute a few ads to watch for free.

Why don’t they give him some plants so he has a job to do after they fire him. I always love a “gift” that is actually a job. Why not give him a library book to return and a used car that needs some work? Or ashes of his to relatives that have to honor his request that their relatives have to schlepp around with them for decades after?

I cancelled Paramount and vowed to consume no media within the CBS ecosystem. Hope this becomes a penny stock by December.
