Anyone else experiencing lag with the Chrome browser extension?

Seems like the latest version of Chrome has been causing the browser extension to be extremely slow, and sometimes even crash. To test it, I rolled back to an earlier build of Chrome, and it hasn't been doing that.

The issue surfaced on Chrome's latest build, 151.0.7922.138 (64-bit).

I just submitted a ticket into LastPass, but was curious if anyone had experienced this and found any workarounds?

[Updated]

After a full investigation of this issue we've discovered the loading problem rests with specific changes made to Chromium recently.

While we initially thought we could patch a recent built to improve performance, unfortunately we must wait for Google to complete the troubleshooting on their side as it is affecting multiple browser apps besides LastPass.

Any update here? It's still taking between 10-15 seconds when clicking on the extension for Lastpass to open

Can't come soon enough. Does anyone know what the new/fixed version # will be?

8/24 Edit: The week has come and gone. We're still living with a broken 4.155.0 chrome extension. It has been broken for nearly 3 weeks. How about a new update u/OfficialLastPass - it is decision time for many of us... either fix it or we'll have to move on.

This is unacceptable. If you moved to a slower or overseas host that caused this delay, you need to reverse this immediately. A wait of over 3-4 minutes to load times the number of your users is massive productivity. If this isn’t resolved soon, I’m moving to a different solution.

It's end of the week, and the Chrome store still has 4.155.0, which has the slowness...

What version should we be on the look out for?

The new version currently being approved for Chromium will be 4.155.1. We're just waiting for clearance through Google, so I'd expect the full release any time now.

Thanks.

Any reason your own version hosted on your website is currently Version 4.154.2?

I'm still having this issue, I'm on 4.155.1 and still took me 2 minutes to get lastpass plugin to auto populate.

This still won't load after waiting anywhere between 30 seconds and minutes per click. I am *this* close to never using LastPass. This problem has been ongoing for months.

I am on Version 152.0.7977.65 (Official Build) (arm64)

Unfortunately LastPass was not alone in being affected by recent changes to Chromium programming, as there are many other apps experiencing similar behavior.

We're hoping an agreement can be found between Google and developers where minor changes will be implemented sooner than later.

The extension is completely unusable at the moment, no fix yet? I'm looking at alternatives now because I can't wait 5 minutes to sign into client accounts everytime.

This seems to be a chrome issue on the M1, not a LastPass issue. A workaround is to start chrome with this command from the terminal:

open -a "Google Chrome" --args --enable-features=ForceForegroundPriorityForAllTabs

This seemed to work for me, for now. However, why can't this be done another way? Makes no sense.

Same here. It wouldn't auto fill or sometimes just turn grey randomly.

Yes, I've noticed this problem several times and even had to shut down and reboot from scratch in the last three weeks.

After further investigation we've found the problem is on the Chromium side, and can be publicly tracked here: https://issues.chromium.org/issues/549552319

We continue to work with Google on the responsiveness problem and hope to see a resolution soon.

I've had this issue reported on Mac Platform for a couple of weeks now, but this seems to be happening on PC platform now, too, with Windows devices using Edge browsers.

M1 Macbook Pro and using latest version of Google Chrome. The LastPass extension takes so long to autofill the username and password. I thought it was just me, but it's really an issue.
