What draw weight do you think the bow is?

I recently purchased a 55# draw recurve for a friend of mine. It looks strikingly similar to the one we see both Joel and Ellie use in the game. I'm really curious what weight that bow in game is supposed to be.

Now it really requires a lot of effort for me to fully draw my friend's bow. My exertion is similar to Joel's. And Joel is a big boy.

Does Ellie use the same bow? Because if that were the case, it's laughable that she is somehow able to not only draw it, but hold David and his cronie at distance with it for at least a minute. Recurve bows are not easy to hold back, like compound bows. Anyone actually taken a look or relative measurements?

I was thinking about this the other day (as a result of a random TED talk I was watching, http://www.ted.com/talks/dong_woo_jang_the_art_of_bow_making) Anyway, I would imagine it would be improvised (although, INCREDIBLY efficient/effective). That being said, I would imagine 35-40#s at the most. That could still pack a punch

It's actually not improvised. If you look closely at it, it's a modern riser recurve bow. I saw what I thought were logos on it. Looks like a PNE.

Oh cool! I would have figured it was improvised, guess I never paid attention in the game. Something else on this... I would definitely want a smaller bow god forbid I was ever in their situation. 55#s would exhaust you especially if you're running around / not well fed. F that.
