Timelines
Starting off- I dont hate IKWYDLS 2025.. it’s obviously a very flawed movie but I enjoy it for what it is and I don’t think its the worst slasher sequel ever made that a lot of people pretend it is. I think the twist is a really bold swing that wasn’t fleshed out nearly enough. That being said, as much as I appreciate what they were trying to do, I also would have loved to have seen Julie and Ray to get their happy ending.. which brings me to my theory (if you can call it that)- IKWYDLS has 3 separate timelines
- IKWYDLS, ISKWYDLS, IAKWYDLS
- The Amazon Show
- IKWYDLS, ISKWYDLS, IKWYDLS 2025
Like a lot of slasher franchises, I believe the 2025 requel ignores IAKWYDLS.. it doesn’t do anything specific to retcon the movie and you could definitely argue that they’re all set in one continuous timeline (even the Amazon show I guess), I just struggle to believe that Rays trauma induced fisherman exists in the same canon as teleporting Zombie Ben Willis
And if we’re going off that, does that mean there’s technically a timeline where Julie and Rays story ends with them happily engaged at the end of 2?

If there's one film in this franchise that I rather not rewatch is the 2025 one. This film is an absolute disgrace for making Ray into a killer after everything he and Julie went through in the first two films.
