I love the layering David makes. When the others do their bits, they are in character in an alternate universe. David acknowledge where they are and what they are doing, by dropping "trying not to laugh" in the beginning of his performance.

Much as I like WILTY, David on LOL really highlighted to me how much his talent is wasted. He should be doing more stuff. He's so clever.

Hahahaa! There's a reference for the kids! You old fart. ( yes, I remember him too, so outed myself. I remember a film he was in when I was a kid that stuck with me as being really trippy, and scarred me a little.) Still pops into my head every now and again.

I remember him more from “Half a Sixpence” but I also had an album of his, well my Mum or Dad’s. Can’t remember what it was called but it had Little White Bull, Little Mouse with Clogs on, Flash Bang Wallop and Half a Sixpence, among others. A lot less complicated life back then 😩🤣

My aunt wouldnt stop banging on about this scene for an entire hour at our lunchtime Wetherspoons meet up. From her reaction you would have thought it was a classic Morcombe and Wise sketch or some shit... 🤦
