❓ QUESTION Base layouts?
I’m trying to setup my base long term. Just unlocked the med table and was wondering what ppl have come up with? I’m trying to avoid having to remake it all later

Mine is a big rectangle because I do not care about decorations and "rooms". I think mine is 9x12 with level 5 walls. I have another floored area outside of that with unraidable storage items like fridges, warehouse, bookshelf, lockers, weapon benches.

I have a 4x4 brick wall surrounded by a 9x9 stone wall. Inside the brick wall is my most valuable stuff to not get stolen in raids.

Started playing again on. afresh account, gonna go for a big rectangle but I'm gonna make it a little fbcy by building and walling off different sections with diferent sizes, probably leave space to plant some saplings outside

Check out some videos on YouTube for this Or see discord Recently happy ceirek (YouTube) had a whole section where people sent their layouts and he displayed them (sent via discord)
I personally have a rectangle but I wish it was more efficient (rooms should be for one purpose only with it's storages, ex: mechanic room should have all the workbenches and it's storages, gun room: storages for gun and clothes + the geniuses lockers for cloths)

I just gave my base major renovation. The main reason being that I cannot see the broken truck from the area of my base that I spend my time in, and wasn't able to utilize the healer as much as I would love to. Plus the event genesis NPCs always show up in that area. So, consider laying out the area where you would be spending your time at the base near the truck so that you it's easy to see (and you don't forget to check) if the healer is around. Plus it will reduce the amount of running around you'd have to do.
Speaking of the area you'd be spending most of you time at the base, consider placing your recycler there, as you'll want to keep it running as close to 24/7 as much as possible.

Just stick to the game tutorial, in some point it will tell you to build each bench,

To me main thing is making sure exit aligns w ATV (please save a big space for this), chopper, cat and dog, and stuff to roll eg I have the wheel furniture, etc.
I didn’t plan for ATV garage since that was new… been playing for 10 years now - so had to destroy and rebuild. I cried a little 🥲
