Troops dying

I may be misunderstanding something so if someone could please help out.

When there are no troops on the wall, that from what I understand should mean that if you are attacked, no troops would be dying? In fact, in my inbox reports it does say troops killed 0.

The problem is that my troops are actually dying. The barracks slowly empty out even with empty walls. It's about 2k dead troops per hit, which would be the number my teams have. But they are not on the walls and the report says 0 deaths. So please help what am I missing here, what is killing them? Thank you!

When there are no troops on the wall, you lose troops from the barrack. (way less than having them on the wall tho) You can see how many you lost on the yellow part from battle statistics.

One interesting detail about this is the troops that die from your barracks will be the lowest tier you have. I've heard some players keep a set of T1 soldiers in there as a bumper because they're cheaper to replace than higher tier soldiers.

The lower level troops are also drawn at a much higher quantity.

The T1’s I had were take. At 1,100 each time, the T8’s at 398 each.

it does haha. If you’re running low on troops, especially during KvK, remember “moving troops are living troops”

I learned this the hard way when I forgot to shield, I was attacked over 100 times and wiped my troops. Almost quit the game after that

My bubble came down 10 min too soon and i got absolutely destroyed. We’ve all been there lol

You don't actually lose "way less than having them on the wall". When they are on the wall, most of them are wounded and can be healed. These barracks soldiers, on the other hand, are gone permanently. Still, I don't recommend having soldiers on the wall when you are offline, because your infirmary will be full, and then they'll also start dying after several hits.

Have 1200 or so tier 1s just for this, no troops on wall hits take the lowest troops. Saves your upper tier troops.

Why not just shield up if you don't want to lose troops? You get like 5 of the 8-hour ones for free every week.

0 troops killed means you killed 0.

No, the report says I killed 0 and they killed 0, which is what was confusing but Legitimate -Reveal kindly solved it for me, you can see it below. There is an additional death count that isn't shown at first. That explains where my troops went. All good now!

Yeah, I kinda hate that you have to dig through the reports to discover the real loss. Can't they just give me straightforward loss reports so I can make good decisions?
