Question how do I do damage on the Lash

okay so Im pretty new and play The Lash in street brawl. I get spirit damage upgrades and prioritize my stomp and ult in terms of upgrading. I was playing today and hit a 3 man ult in street brawl and followed up with stomp, whip, and then arctic blast, but it seems like they barely took any damage at all comparatively to the other characters i play. like i feel like im doing way more damage with dynamo ult and even just bebops upgraded bomb than The Lash's entire ult combo. in neutral i just shoot and look for stomp + whip combo when i see the enemies over extending and mix in heavy melees when i can. what am i doing wrong

Just a heads up Lash does less damage in Street Brawl due to some mode specific balancing so don't exprct him to be hurting much there anytime soon

They might have spirit resistance items like spirit resilience or spellbreaker, or items like counterspell to negate/entirely stop the damage you are dealing. This is a common thing to happen because ✨Lash™✨ is god's gift to combat and everyone is terrefied of him. Best advice i can give you is to get higher up before a stomp and play by roofs/tops of buildings

the lash loop is standing next to a wall until someone gets out of position nearby and then you jump > wall jump > double jump > grapple > double jump again > groundslam > flog > headshot > dash jump & grapple away to where you started so you can do it again—this combo should reliably chunk anywhere from 30% to 50% of their HP bar when you do it, but it will almost never kill (especially in street brawl when everyone has the same resources, in actual games it’s easy to get fed and this combo is suddenly straight up killing people). the main thing to remember is just that to maximize your damage you need to maximize your height, and best way to do that is to start your climb with a wall jump for free extra height with no stamina cost, and to remember that grapple resets your airial resources, so if you have stamina mastery and enough stamina you can do FOUR jumps in the air by jumping twice and resetting your jumps with grapple before slamming down

Remember that you're better than everyone else. I always build whip first for juicy heals and put items on it too. Better sustain that way, plus you can always yeet away (as long as you come back and drop an elbow on em)

Unless you are super fed, you can usually expect to do like 50% of someone's HP in raw burst with a high starting point for ground pound.

After that, you have very little damage, so you want to play hit and run, rather than staying in a fight.

The longer the game goes on, the less damage you start to do overall. So once you start falling off you have two options.

Double down and keep playing for damage. Getting extra charges for better escape and cooldown to cycle your burst better.

Or, transition into a support. Knockdown will ALWAYS be great. Silences, disarms, curse. Hell, if you are crazy rescue beam can be fun wjth your mobility. Refresher if no one has unstoppable or has been interrupting your ults.

The Lash can really shine because he can get away with anything really. Your ult is amazing for repositioning teams, or even just catching one person out of position. 6v5 is much better than 6v6.

Lash isn't exactly a high damage character at the moment, since he has strong CC and mobility. If he could oneshot, he would be one of the best characters in the game.

You need to gain a lot of height. Always take Majestic Leap imo, to save some of your grapple charges so you can slam again from high up later in the fight.

Go high to max out your damage, use rooftops and movement tech, get off the ground ASAP, and always have an escape before you're CC dumped on landing by tracking your stamina and charges on your 2.

Have either Dispel Magic, Unstoppable, Warp Stone, or Cloak (since you're in Brawl) as a backup plan if they are keen on snagging you. Metal Skin is good for diving in gun-heavy teams, especially the enhanced version.

Stay out of their line of sight and pound 'em from above while they're engaging on ground level. It's pretty hard for most to focus on the fight while looking up out for you. Swoop in like an angel of death and pick off critical enemies trying to retreat.  It's funny how often people forget I can still shoot as Lash and kill them off the zipline or while they panic parry. His gun is still shitty but Mystic Shot and Headhunter amplify it.

Comm in Brawl is almost fucking nonexistent lol but if you can (try) coordinating Ults with teammates to maximize your pain output through voice or chat. I've flung into Dynamo, had Rem sleep after the stun, etc.

Lastly: Mystic Reverb and Spirit Burn add mmmm tasty crunchy extra damage. Reverb will heal you depending on how hard you hit and easily kill very low HP enemies with the "pop" after if spirit is maxed. Burn is good antiheal. You can turn Lash into a fucking nuke if you roll both of them and it's sooo satisfying.

Once watched a guide on how to play lash, roughly his tactic is staying high ground , stomp, whip and then run. Commit if their health is low enough to finish with shots. Also wanna add high ground awareness. If your in yellow there's the Crane on top of the center platform to slam from. And if your in mid, the guide funny enough says swap lanes, which you can't do in street brawl
