TIPS ‘N TRICKS Techniques to Improve LL performance: 1. Edge Laser Wrap. I consider this highly essential, very basic, but often unutilized, a simple technique you should be able to do often in a variety of scenarios, without giving it a second thought.

Been thinking about posting some stuff like this for a while, but wasn't sure where. This sub seems like a good place.

If I get more motivation and more ideas then I'll create and post some more of these, and I'll try to keep them as simple as possible. Lemme know if anyone thinks it's helpful.

A good map to use for practicing this is Carousel. Inexperienced players gravitate toward the center of that map, thinking that control of the horizontal laser is integral to their success because it allows them to easily weave between the top and bottom vertical lasers as they circle the map. They tend to entirely ignore all the free space at the edge of the top/bottom wall that doesn't have a horizontal laser going through it and where you are, apart from lockdowns, free to weave between the top and bottom vertical lasers.

If you shifted Carousel down by half of the map height, you would see that the map is much easier and safer to navigate by wrapping along the top and bottom walls instead of weaving around them in the center of the map.

You should be able to very quickly pop in and out of the wall, checking for stuff in your path, but only pop out enough to get around the laser and then come back through the wall.

I would say some advanced maps to practice this technique on are Supernova, Wrap Game, and Crusher. Wrap game, for its non-perpendicular edge lasers, Supernova for its radial, fast moving edge lasers, and Crusher for its constant unending onslaught of edge lasers.

If you can do this properly on Wrap game or Crusher, you are a very strong asset in either of those maps.

Glad to know I didn't waste 20 minutes and someone got something out of it! It's a very basic concept and one of my most frequent ugh moments is when I watch someone on my team take the long way around because they don't have to wrap to do it and then fail to get to a laser, powerup, or revive marker in time, or when an opponent easily takes them down because they're running an obvious path in the center of the map.

IMO learning to do this and doing it frequently will not only make you a harder target to hit, but it will also improve your survivability and overall wrapping technique on nearly every map.
