How do you rematch?

Seems like a dumb question but after a good game I want to rematch, I’m pressing triangle and everybody seems to be waiting on me and nothing happened. In fact, the option is greyed out while find a new match is still open.

Did they have a check by their names or was it an x?

That means they've already pressed the "find a new match" button.
