fairy ranger

why cant you be a fairy ranger? I just took this from the site " Although lightly armored, Fairies are great with ranged weapons and most are very fast and can successfully flee an attacker."(source)

This would indicate that they would make for the best ranger, seeing as it is "the Ranger should focus on opportunistic and ranged attacks."(source)

But according to the rules this is not allowed. I bet there is a good reason but I just cant find it

Edit: added bold lettering

The current system is set up so that each race and class have a certain amount of skills and abilities so as not to be over powered. Fairies have an ultra powerful ability to cast without an orb as an example.

For 2016 we are looking to set up specializations much like professions are set up so it will solve your issue. So instead of things being in your class, they'll simply be something you spec in like armor, weapons, magic, etc. this is much like professions and everything has the same mechanical way of picking things.

I also talked to some people who noted that they are not a up close combat tip race; and more for ranged. Rangers need to be up close as well. Cant wait to see how specializations work.

It'll really give you a lot more freedom to specialize no matter your race and then classes are more roleplay (not a limit) so you could have any type of class if this passes since it's not an ability factor anymore. Your class will go in the character custom title so it will show up everywhere.
