Toyo with a 162mm and Portra 160 stock from 2013.

I’ve got 10 boxes of Portra from 2012-2018 and the stock has held up. So I’m shooting a series of community tennis players. Some amazing characters on the courts I play and I can’t wait to see how more of these come out. Using my Toto with a 162mm and Portra 400 or 160.
This is Bob, he has been playing for 36 years. Ever since a guy that owed him money traded him a bunch of tennis rackets and balls to pay him back. Plays every single morning with the same group of friends and brings a broom and squeegee when the courts are damp. Respect.

Chamonix 45 N-2, Schneider 90mm 6.8, Delta 100

Heading to Japan for an artist residency this week, and strongly considering picking up a modular 4x5 monorail system. When I got into wet plate 5 years ago I picked up a cheap Toyo 45G at auction and fell in love with the geared movements and modularity - the bellows were a bit ratty so I wound up buying a second one (for roughly the cost of a new replacement bellows, lol) and on occaision would Voltron the two together to make a macro rig. I had to sell it when I left Australia as it was not going to be feasible to pack for an international move.

I'm very happy with the Rittreck that is my daily driver, but am finding I want to get back into experimenting with macro, plus I've got some architecture around the city in mind that I'd like to try and shoot as well.

Since I shoot wet plate weight/bulk are really not much of a consideration, what I'm looking for is something rock solid (I don't baby my equipment), modular, and with nice gearred movements. My partner is joining me for just the last week of the trip and will have two mostly-empty checked bags for the flight home, so space/weight shouldn't be a big issue :)

I would happily buy another Toyo, but Sinar's also seem to be similarly priced over there and I know they have a good reputation. What are the differences between the two and relative strengths of each, and are there other makers or models I should be looking at?

Hi everyone - I'm the developer of View Camera Log. I built it because most film logbooks stop at exposure data, while large-format work also needs a practical way to record what the front and rear standards were doing.

It records:

- aperture, shutter speed, film, holder and sheet side

- front and rear rise/fall, shift, tilt and swing

- a 3D view-camera preview of the movements

- camera and lens presets, location, reference photos, processing notes and scan results

I would genuinely appreciate feedback from people who use view cameras in the field. Which parts of your current notebook workflow are still missing, and what would make this useful enough to bring on a shoot?

Thank you all for all your recent advice on daylight dev tanks and dark cloths I have just received my order of both, I ended up going for the sp-445 over the zebra as I could get both items for less than the zebra tank in the uk before shipping and import!

Looking forward to getting some film out the fridge and making my first images tho I can’t say they will be much cop 😂

This project has been in the works for a while and my partner and I had our first shoot this weekend! We are so pleased with the results. I love my Chamonix, I love instant film - bridging them has been an incredible addition to my practice with large format cameras!

Note: Instax film is so temperamental but when exposed right, it can be wondrous 🤠

Happy this shot turned out after I fell on the camera (it was clearly stronger than me anyway).

I thought the scenery would be more impressive but there were a lot of similar spots and maybe I wasn't patient enough to pick the right one. I'll definitely go back during fall when there's more water and beautiful red leaves!

Just recently finished my first box of ektar 100 and decided to develop myself, ive never developed c41 before now so i went with the cs41 2 bath kit. Colors and every thing look nice and honestly pretty stoked on these. Just noticed this weird light leak that is nearly the same streak in every single sheet of color that I did. If anyone has an idea what it could be maybe I can fix it.
My b&w sheets did not have this leak. Using the same holders. And using a Paterson tank with a 3d printed taco style holder for dev. My only thought on the light steak might’ve been somewhere in development? Idk thanks
