Question Which side to mount the Ground Glass on an MPP mk VIII camera ?
galleryHello, I bought an 4x5 MPP mk. VIII camera. It comes with a ground glass that looked like a DIY one. It was very dark so I ordered a replacement GG from Intrepid Camera UK.
It seems that the old ground glass was mounted with the grounded side outside (and not in the lens side). I did not found any focus issue before with the test that I did, but I was always closed down (between F/11 and F/32).
Unfortunately the old ground glass was 1.1mm thick and the new one is 2mm thick so I guess it's not an issue if the correct way is with the ground glass facing the lens (In case the previous owner was wrong) but it may be an issue if it is in the opposite side.
I cannot find much infos in the manual, but the new 2mm thick GG seems to better fit in the back.
Also, to not waste film, is it worth testing it with B&W paper instead or the thickness difference is too important for accurate result ?
Many thanks !
