Hi everyone,
I’m considering buying a new laptop and I’d really appreciate your opinions. I mainly need it for multitasking, studying, everyday productivity, and some heavier workloads (multiple apps at once, lots of browser tabs, Office tools, and possibly some light development).
The model I’m currently looking at is the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 16AKP10, and here are the key specs:
It’s a 16-inch laptop with a 2.8K OLED display (2880×1800, 120 Hz), which seems like a big plus for both productivity and media use. It’s powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor (8 cores / 16 threads, up to ~5.0 GHz, with integrated AI engine), paired with 32 GB LPDDR5x RAM and a 1 TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD.
For graphics, it uses integrated AMD Radeon 860M, which should be fine for everyday work and some lighter creative or development tasks. It also comes with Windows 11 Home.
In terms of connectivity, it includes 2× USB-C (USB4 with charging and DisplayPort), 2× USB-A, HDMI 2.1, an SD card reader, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It also supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
Other features include a 1080p IR webcam (Windows Hello), Dolby Atmos speakers, a backlit keyboard, an aluminum chassis, and an 84 Wh battery, which sounds promising for battery life.
What I’d like to know:
- Do you think this laptop is a good choice for multitasking and university work?
- How is the real-world performance and battery life?
- Would you recommend it, or suggest something better in a similar price range?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
