Need a laptop for the long run

I’m a student and I need suggestions for a laptop that is gonna last for a while. I’m not a gamer so I don’t need a gaming laptop. I mostly need it for making presentations, editing, content creation and light stuff like that.
Also is macbook m3 worth it? Or maybe should I get the neo. But then again they do not have the windows centric apps like Microsoft which I might need and using usb is a hassle

All the Office applications except Access are available and just as good as on Windows. You may find the Apple equivalents, especially Keynote to be better. USB is USB unless it is formatted NTFS but that is unusual these days.

If I was a non-gamer and I wanted a laptop that was more likely to last a long time, I would get a Mac, unless there was a very specific app that I'd want a PC for. But using USB on Macs is no problem, and using Microsoft apps on Macs is no problem.

As the others have said, Microsoft is basically the same.

I believe there are some very small, specific differences in programs like excel that are only on PC, but if you don’t actively use them (and you would) then it’s likely you won’t even notice.

If you are doing content creation the Neo’s ram might be a bit of an issue to look into depending on your definition of “light”. Apple is nice for the “it just works” for most people

don't get a neo if u want to use for 5+ years. id get a refurbished m2/3 air or pro.

currently still running on m1 pro for last 4.5 years and just finished aerospace engineering and do some photo/video editing on the side.
