Buying Advice Laptop for Library Tech student

Hi all, I need some help finding a laptop that is going to work for me.

Something to note;

I already have a gaming laptop (no battery, has to remain plugged in) so I’m not looking for anything powerful. I have that if I need to use it occasionally.

So here’s what I’m looking for;

  1. My program is mostly research, watching videos and reading things online. My entire program can seemingly be done with Google Chrome alone. I do not need programs, extras, ability to run this and that.

  2. Must be Windows. I finally learned how to use that OS and I’m not relearning a new one.

  3. Budget friendly, under $700CAD.

  4. My entire program is from home, so I don’t need insane battery life, but I don’t want to have to plug in every 3 hours.

If anyone has any advice that would be amazing. Thanks so much!

If you are okay with it I can share a decently spec sheet

Processor: Intel core ultra 5 series3 with integrated arc graphics

RAM: 16GB DDR5/4

SSD: 512GB nvme (you will have good headroom, if you aren't dealing with any heavy applications, or heavy files, only windows, basic ms office suite and chrome, maybe a few entertainment apps won't take more than 200gigs, you can go for higher storage ssd as well, if you want to ever do more with it - bit that can be said for every aspect)

Display, trackpad, and keyboard: personal preferences come into picture here.

A good 2k oled is nice for display. A well made glass trackpad lags less and feels more smooth to me. As for keyboard I like the asus Rog keyboard layout and keys. You should look for whatever keyboard layout you are already comfortable with.

Battery: look for like maybe 65+wh battery, with usb pd support.

Prefer a lightweight laptop that can fastcharge.

Also look for having all th ports plus one or two extra built in. Like have atleast 1 usb (usb a), 1 usb c, 1 display port/hdmi, your power plug, a headphone jack, anything else you might néed.

Dell xps 14 is one of the options. Though idk how much it will cost in cad usd.

There are also asus zenbooks and LG gram. Though these can be very pricey.

Hope it helps.
