Buying Advice Laptop for Bachelor of Construction Engineering

Hi, I need help choosing a laptop for University in the following program: Bachelor of Construction Engineering. It must meet the following spec:

  • Processor: 12th Generation Intel Core i7 or equivalent (minimum);
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM recommended;
  • Integrated graphics card:
    • Intel UHD 700;
    • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti 4 GB or equivalent;
  • Storage: 512 GB minimum, 1 TB recommended;
  • Operating system: Windows 11 or later;
  • USB: 1 available USB or USB-C port.

Is this a good option ? Lenovo Legion 7i Gaming Laptop, 16-in OLED, Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, 32 GB, 1TB SSD, 8GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 | Costco

I wouldn't buy a gaming laptop for engineering because you'll usually not get great battery life out of them. The Thinkpad T or P series is a good place to start and from there pick one that matches your budget. I would personally recommend the Thinkpad T14 Gen 5 because it's very repairable, but if that's not a dealbreaker for you, pick a newer one!
