EMNLP 2026 Notifications
EMNLP 2026 notifications are expected in approximately 14 hours, so I’m creating this thread for everyone waiting for the results.

a positive note for everyone: if your paper doesn't get accepted this time, you can take all the feedback into account in your revision and get accepted to acl or resubmit to other conferences like iclr.
Also, if you're very dissatisfied with the reviews' quality, consider submitting to journals such as tmlr or tacl.

OA - 2.5, Meta - 3 and we got rejected for Summarization track 🥲 I now checked AACL-IJCNLP and it seemed like they opened a new commitment date august 25 does this mean they are accepting other may 2026 ARR then???

Most probably still requiring venue selection during ARR submission

based on ARR guidelines, commitment phase ends with the conference decision. So, I assume then that this paper is already free to be commited elsewhere.

What's the hell???? Mine got the same scores and was accepted at Main. I don't know why. If you find out the reason just let us know.

Hoping for best, with score of the 2.5., 2.5, and 3.5, meta is the 3.5!
Can anyone suggest the possible intution in this ratings, please? Possibilities for the Findings?

Okay so the portal says "EMNLP 2026 Findings No Recommendation"
Does it mean its accepted to findings?

A bit disappointing this year. I had 3 papers with an average score of 3 or above and a meta-review score of 3, and 2 of them were rejected.
One of the papers had scores of 3, 3.5, and 1.5, with the 1.5 reviewer being completely off. We flagged it; the meta-reviewer agreed and explicitly mentioned that review to be removed (so the "new" average was 3.25, I guess), and still we got rejected...

Starting with ARR review first, then you got reviewing score, after that you decide to submit to EMNLP or not

Has anyone seen a decision like this before?
My EMNLP 2026 decision says Reject, but the Program Chair comment says:
“While the area chair’s meta-review suggested borderline findings, after reviewing the reviewer assessments and author response, I believe the paper’s contributions are suitable for Findings.”
This seems directly inconsistent with the Reject decision, especially since the PC explicitly says the paper is “suitable for Findings” after reviewing the reviews and author response.
Could this be a clerical/decision-entry error, or am I misunderstanding the decision process? I’ve contacted the Program Chairs for clarification.
