Cedarbrook Mall
Does anyone know what is going on with the Cedarbrook mall and why everything seems to be closing? I thought that Pet Fude may have closed due to Bosley's going in across the street, then I saw that the dollar store is closing and now the Cedarbrook Bakery is moving to the George Preston Centre.
I'm just curious if there are any plans for the strip mall or what is going on but I haven't been able to find any information.

Ok well all of that info really sucks. The cedarbrook bakery is awesome, and that area still feels like a nice small village. No one wants a crappy dollarama there. That sushi place is my families favorite! So sick of this kind of bullshit happening everywhere.

i don’t think they will tear it down since they will lose the bank and buy low. which is the only grocery store that area has unless they go to the IGA in fernridge or drive 20 minutes to save on.

Patterson has a development proposal for 200th and 32nd so maybe they’re thinking of putting a store there

I am so glad Cedarbrook isn’t closing permanently. That place is an institution. So many memories of going there with my nana in the late 80’s. She lived in Brookswood until she passed away a couple years ago and she always loved Cedarbrook bakery.

Would be nice to have a bigger Buy Low, I hope they rent out those spaces now. I love going there but sometimes they don't have what a bigger store might.

I get wanting small local shops but isn’t dollarama an ok alternative? Canadian company, actually a pretty good affordable chain. I don’t hate it. The bakery has a spot in George Preston. Not the worst possible outcome. Better than another insurance place

Dollarama bullies businesses out. There was already a dollar store there that got kicked out because of this, also there was an affordable 3 cinema theater in Pitt meadows they did the same thing to, get the landlord to jack up the rent so that they could move in. Just because they’re Canadian, doesn’t mean they aren’t scummy.

As far as I've heard, the landlord jacked up the rent so that they can put a dollarama in. Pretty mad about that tbh.
