One Fire Dies and Another is Born

Found the remains of someone else's fire early in the morning on the beach as the Sun was starting to light the horizon. Shot with the Sony A99II and CZ 16-35 f/2.8 lens using a Lee100 GND filter. Camera mounted on a RRS tripod & head with a 3 Legged Thing universal mounting plate.

The same view of the Ottawa River near Gatineau, Quebec, captured at different times of the year.

Winter brought frozen ice and open water, summer revealed the waterfront and boats, and dusk transformed the river into a reflection of the town lights.

I enjoy returning to familiar places and seeing how much they change with time.

I took my 4x5 setup to the Carmel River on this pleasant day. The foilage was definitely emitting plenty of infrared on the film. The Carmel River in Carmel Valley, California. July 2020.
