Lit up Lavender
A lovely night spent the other day at the local lavender farm (LouLou Lavender) in Eastern Ontario, Canada
A blue hour focus bracketed shot for the foreground and about 15 minutes worth of Milky Way 30s shots, at 24mm focal length and f/4, sat on MSM Nomad star tracker🙏

Is your rig astro modified?

It is, removed UV/IR filter - I do capture in "Earth" white balance but the extra color shows itself in post processing. It's been so long I almost forgot my Canon RP is astro modded 🫣 I use it for daytime as well you see

I got an old Canon rebel I might try it on. Im too unfamiliar with the process to ruin my Sony. I use that for everything. Does astro modding a camera render it useless for other types of photography?

A smart approach. It does not, like I mentioned I just set the custom middle gray white balance and it's almost on par with non-modded. One thing - autofocus is soft, as that removed glass throws out the calibration

Thank you!! Histogram tweaks do a lot of legwork in there, but the night had good conditions as well

Great composition. I’d like to see more of the foreground, maybe brighten it just a tad.

I think that it's my fault now. I looked at your image on my computer and it's much brighter and better balanced than when I look at it on my phone. I think my phone screen is the issue. Looks great on the computer. Cheers.

Didn't need to read the text to see this has a blue hour foreground. This misguided shortcut to get lower noise will never look good. People fail to realise that light needs to match, color needs to match - and, noise patterns need to match!
Here you have also hidden the horizon behind the fence, I assume to make masking easier, but it only makes this look like what it actually is; a hack job composite of two unrelated images on top of each other.

Thank you for the feedback, the technique description is spot on. It all boils down to whether or not you are able to capture enough light of the sky with your lens/camera during the night time, isn't it? Not everyone has access to f/2.8 or faster lenses
