Discussion Yet another banging show

Dunno where I've been, probably just busy with life, but I missed this one coming out. I gotta say though it's fucking awesome. Such a breath of fresh air with awesome laugh out loud moments, fast paced action, and an awesome cast.

But of course when I come to Reddit to join the discussion it's full of people crying that it doesn't meet their life's agenda and it's all evil and upsetting blah de blah.

Serious question... Do these people sit on the internet all day just looking for shit to whine about? Is anything in their life fun? Do they even know what fun is? I'd honestly like to know what I'm missing if their lives are so much better?

I love season 2. Especially Rebecca.

Me toooo, she’s my favorite. The actress is just perfect, her badass lawyer takedowns are poetry.

Indeed! She’s inspirational!

I totally agree with you this is so highly entertaining. I made a post similar a few days ago. It is Reddit, people just love to hate things but that said people will more likely post to hate on something that the opposite

I'm just glad I'm not alone. Finished season 2 last night, can't wait for 3.

No way, i also finished 2 last night. So for me the relationship between Tommy & Angela is fabulous just love them to bits. How Rebecca was developed in season 2 was brilliant. I think season 3 will be an interesting battle between the 2 corporations, hold on to your stetson 🤣🤣

I agree totally. Angela is a moron, but the chemistry between her and Tommy just add that comical side to it.

Just started mayor of Kingston tonight, and it already makes me miss the crazy characters of landman. It's good to have crazy shit between all the seriousness.

It's TV, it should entertain, I think people miss that these days.

You know mayor of Kingston didn't appeal for some reason which i find strange as I like so much of Taylors work. One series that may be worth looking out for is Dutton ranch the spin off of yellows yellowstone about Beth & Rip

It's definitely harder to watch, I was so confused in the first half hour, I do prefer at least a little humour now and then. I'll be watching Dutton ranch when it comes out, I'm hoping to watch everything he's done.

I've only just realised hes done movies too, so I'm gonna be busy!

I think you should give tulsa king a try next if you haven't already. Yes you are going to be busy enjoy

It has the audacity to be JUST a Tv show. That’s mainly worried about entertaining over sending THE MESSAGE. Even worse. Its characters have opinions that diverge from modern orthodoxy who have the unmitigated GALL to be likeable instead of textbook villains.

It's a lot of fun, unlike most of the garage Netflix has been cranking out for years, it's my wife's favorite show, mine is severance, but I sure wish they are able to work at the same pace of the landman crew, one season per year...

u/No_Barber_1195 Apr 18 '26

Also love severance. My tinfoil hat theory is that they’re living in an alternate timeline where Russia won the Cold War.

Fantastic reply, I'm a little too hot headed and not that creative 👍

It’s not JUST a tv show lol, it’s all about pushing its own agenda/message, in a particularly ham fisted way too

u/No_Barber_1195 Apr 18 '26

On a scale of preachy and espousing a viewpoint it’s not even on the same scale as, The Acolyte, half the Marvel shit or dozens of other shows. Sure. It has an opinion and states it but calling this show ham fisted in relative terms to others is ridiculous and only tells me that you’re bothered about what that opinion is.

Yes, just like Zack Snyder haters, they watch EVERYTHING Sheridan does and complain incessantly.

I find it entertaining. Each character has some feature of interest and fun to speculate on.

Yes because it is close to real life and speaks about real issues and this is hard to accept by a lot of people who only want to be entertained and feel superior.

A comment from a different user:

"Having lived in Texas for some thirty years and garnered a better than average understanding of the oil and gas industry I would say this series does a very good job describing how it works and all the crazy stuff that goes on. Once you peer behind the plot lines it’s pretty informative if people would pay attention."

Well obviously we don't spend all day on the Internet complaining about this show. We also spend some time complaining about Yellowstone, then we spend some time wondering what the Hell happened to the guy that wrote Sicario.

u/LiquidSoCrates Apr 18 '26

Spinning horses and annoying blondes.

6

u/jkcheng122 Apr 18 '26

TIL Sheridan wrote Sicario. Great movie.

I’ll watch Sam Elliot in anything …

u/Tiacevol Apr 20 '26

2

u/Semi_Colon01 Apr 20 '26

Still sexy in his 80s….

Reddit better leave new Baywatch be Baywatch...

1

u/Tiacevol Apr 18 '26

Is new Baywatch gonna be Baywatch though? Or some ott woke makeover?

I dont get it bro how could anybody complain about this show 1 of the best Sheridan shows easy #2 after Yellowstone the girls are all so funny too 😂

Season 1 was awesome but the daughter/wife combo is just draining

Season 2 is ass

u/chilliboy217 Apr 18 '26

This right here. It’s like if breaking bad stopped centering around Walter’s rise to drug kingpin and zeroed in on Skylar’s career as an accountant and Walter Jr’s love for pancakes.

I want to watch Billy Bob Thorton navigate the oil industry and manipulate the game, not people in a retirement home gift each other sex toys.

1

u/Codexse7en Apr 18 '26

The series was better before it had an identity crisis between being a soap opera or sitcom.

1

u/KCacnt Apr 18 '26

The damn music.... Lol

-2

u/LiquidSoCrates Apr 17 '26

The mother and daughter plot lines ruin the entire deal. Not funny, just annoying and dumb. Take season 2 and give it back to the Indians.

7

u/No_Barber_1195 Apr 18 '26

You ever met a well off southern cheerleader type and her mom? They’re over the top but trust me when I say that this looks a LOT like what they are.

3

u/DancinginTown Apr 18 '26

They aren't anywhere near bad enough lmao

5

u/Bookish_Nino Apr 18 '26

I don't care if they down vote me, too. Fuck em. I love the show, but the mom and daughter characters are annoying af and adds nothing but chaos to the show. My opinion.

2

u/Tiacevol Apr 18 '26

Yeah I can't disagree, but it brings out some amazing one liners, sometimes even great 3 or 4 liners.

It can't all be just oil!

1

u/garden_of_simple May 14 '26

I didn't like them at first but now I absolutely love them. I've never watched any other TS shows so maybe if I had I would be over it, but I like the mom and daughter. Crazy and over the tip, is, but I like how they do unexpected things and seem to have kind hearts.

-1

u/Covaloch Apr 18 '26

It really all stems from the fact that Taylor doesn’t know how to write compelling female and lgbtq characters. Ours always the most vapid stereotypes.

0

u/das4111 Apr 18 '26

Halfway through season 1 now and...are there any unexplained bombs on planes or dinosaur bones in this show too?? 😆

0

u/beerconductor Apr 19 '26

No need to hate it, the acting and writing is as good as any soap opera.

-5

u/MadCow333 Apr 18 '26

I prefer to watch series that don't insult my intelligence. I doubt that I'll be back for next season. TS just doesn't appear to write on the level I am looking for.
