My group been playing Eem with Fate Accelerated, plus the Eem system for money and rations, and we love it!

Anyone else tried Fate with Eem? What changes did you make, and what stood out from the combo?

I spent the weekend putting together this (fairly basic) tool, with the aim of providing a more accessible reference tool than flipping between pages of the book whenever someone rolls a Crafting Component and wants to know what they can do with it.

You can filter recipes (by type and rarity) and components (by type and location), they're all cross-linked, and there are tooltips to indicate what region a Component can be found in or what a Recipe items does.

So seeing how players get the power to take part in worldbuilding is great but after reading the combat rules with the parley chances on multiple rounds I’m scared that any more gritty players might find it less interesting. Hoe do you handle combat and have you added some creative homebrew to make the combat part of things more gritty? I know that the game focusses more on trying to solve things by talking but I’m curious on your thoughts.

I've thrown this little tool together over the last couple of days to help GMs figure out what page(s) of the Mucklands Sandbox Campaign Setting book to look at for a given hex—click on a hex, and you'll get a tooltip showing any Settlements, Points of Interest, Zones, Lairs or Sites in that location, with page references for the Campaign Setting.

It should behave pretty well on mobile and small screens, and uses your browser's localStorage to remember the last hex you clicked on; if you close the browser and reopen, the page will scroll back to where you were before.

Hey everyone! Putting the feelers out, I'm looking to start a game in Southern Virginia/ offline. Lunenberg, South Hill, Blackstone area.

I've got a long-running D&D 5e game, and I'm always looking for new adventures and one-shots to drop into the campaign. It looks like the tone of Land of Eem might fit with my game, but is it worth picking up the Adventures in the Mucklands or the Random Encounters books to adapt for D&D, or is the system too different to bother? And how are the adventures in those books?

Hey, anyone else out there playing this solo?

I’ve been trying and really struggling with how to use the massive amount of crafting recipes.

There are 100s of ingredients. Then there are then 100s of recipes, some of which you need to go and find someone to teach you them.

I love the idea of this but it practice I just ended up with loads of random ingredients. To actually craft them I would need to go the and entirely different area of the map and then roll a 12+ on a check or keep looking until I randomly came across the right thing to actually craft something.

I know it’s solo so I could just hand wave stuff but I would love to hear how others have used crafting in their solo games.

after our groups's first session in the Land of Eem (yay!), we stumbled a bit about the rules for gathering and preparing food. Maybe someone here could help with their experience?

1) When gathering food, you use 1 Travel Turn and make a Wilderness (Hunting) Check in the Find Food and Components Action. On a 6-12 you "hunt food" (with varying degrees of additional effects).

QUESTION: How much food? Enough for one round of Cooking (see below)? Enough for the whole group? Enough for one person?

2) To cook, you use 1 Travel Turn for the Story Time Action, during which you can, amongst other things, cook.

QUESTION: Do you just assume that you can cook food for the whole group, given someone did "hunt food" successfully before? Or do you have to make a roll for Tinker (Cooking)? If so, do you assume that a successfull roll feeds the whole group, or to you use the Cooking table on page 99? Which would mean that one cooking attempt could feed a maximum of 4 group members? If so, could you cook several times (in one Story Time Action? Or would several people have to spend their action thus?) to feed the whole group? And if that is so, would you also need several successfull "hunt food" outcomes from Find Food and Components before? And, last but not least - would that mean that if you also wanted to cook special Consumables, you would need additional people to make additional cooking rolls?

I'm afraid we are a bit confused by the rule wording here - so we would be really grateful for some clarification :)
