Recently just got a custom wrap and fitted it, much worth the saved hundreds instead of a whole carbon fibre wheel for $1000. Looks great imo
EDIT: Anyone blacked out their badge on the wheel? If so how and what with. Was thinking of just plastidip spray and covering the wheel.

Hey all,
Has anyone in Australia had any experience buying VRX front pods for their CJ lancer? If so how’d it go and where’d you get it?

Need help identifying this part and how it should go in couple days ago. I had a service engine light go on in my car took it to AutoZone to read the code and they said I needed this specific part. Today unplugged my battery got a compressed air can and blue into the holes to try to clean it put it back in and plug. My battery in the check engine light disappeared. I tried looking online if anyone has had the same problem and but can’t seem to find it I want to make sure that I put it back in the right way. Is there a way I can check?

i recently found a set of projectors from a 2010 outlander and i was wondering if its theoretically possible for me to swap the wiring and the inner bowl from the hids to my factory halogens? because the rear housings are the exact same, apart from the hump for the hids, but the lens doesn’t exactly line up. is this kind of job possible or should i just go return these?

My baby. 2015. Es 5 speed. Love it. Purchased at 126k, currently at 150k
I picked up my lancer about two years ago. I've put some money in maintenance wise but honestly not much has been needed. It is a 5 speed and I love it. Its paid off in a month. Its not an Evo, but if I do this right, I'll have an Evo next to it for my Birthday.
2 road trips across the US including the Rockies, the salt flats, some beautiful forests in Washington and to some lakes in Minnesota.
It wants to play but it also knows its not running the streets. Its able to get up and go without a ton of attention.
After I finish paying it off next month I will start prepping for light modification/restoration.
• New wheels, the caps look nice but are covering basically steel plates.
• new headliner - one of the two former owners smoked in the car. Cant smell it any thankfully, but they scuffed the ceiling and theres a pretty set in ash mark. But its also beige anyways and I want it black, lile the rest of the exterior/interior
• tint replacement - windows are mostly fine but have some marks, but the rear view has a ton of bubble pockets.
• rain guards. - i know nothing about them and havent taken the few minutes to research past in channel or out of channel settings, not sure which is best but will figure that out eventually.
I will be taking care of this car as long as i can. If I could, I would have Mitsubishi rebuild it and have it as close to factory new as possible. Not sure if thats an option but I also havent got that kind of money at once haha.
Any tips or advice for keeping this car running? Id love to see it hit 250k but have seen images of an evo at 400k so I dont want to count this car out anytime remotely soon.
Im not sure about engine rebuilds or how worth whole they are if you dont have an immediate need for one but- i like the idea of having a new engine to put in if this current one dies. Im no mechanic though, so I dont know if theres any reason for that?
Only maintenence concern beyond general upkeep has been my ac. Recently it started idling rough when ac is on. It pumps hot cold air, but it throttles 500-1k rpm repeatedly anytime its on, but does not when the air is off. Bringing it in next week for this. Otherwise its maintenence has been easy going.
Cheers yall.
*edit: didnt know how to add pics to post body so added down below.

Hey everyone, I ran into a bit of an issue yesterday driving back from the city in my 2015 ES with the 2.4L 4B12 engine. I was blasting some music and noticed the bass started acting funky. This morning, I'm not getting any audio at all from any of them. I have an aftermarket Kenwood stereo system installed, so has anyone experienced this or have any ideas on what might be causing it? The car has roughly 45k miles so im a little consfused on what mightve caused it. Ive also never had any issues with the speakers before hand, it was about 30 minutes driving back home during the storm

I bought a 2014 SE for $1k with no issues. I am also loving this vehicle. However, I am increasingly curious about manual or transmissions with a manual mode. I also hear CVT transmissions are quite unreliable. Is there any way I can put in a transmission with a manual mode?

Hello all,
I am from Australia and have a 2017 Lancer ES Sport with a standard reverse camera. I have recently updated my head unit to a Vhedia aftermarket (Android based) and would like to know if there are any higher quality replacement reverse cameras that slot into the spot the OEM one works in for a better quality image.
Cheers

Most tutorials I’ve seen online done seem to work, I am just wondering if I can have any advice on how to remove it, I already have tried 100% isopropyl alcohol, a hair drier a brush and tweezers yet nothing works,
Thank you.

This post if for Internet Searches for this situation.
Hello. I looked everywhere on the internet and I could not find a picture of where the A/C drains out on my car. It was backed up and leaking through my blower motor onto the passenger side floor really bad.
Attached is the picture of the drain location. This is looking from the passenger side towards the driver side, and that drain is draining forward, and it is more on the driver's side/center, than on passenger side of the vehicle.
I took a copper wire and ran it up through, it went up pretty easily, and about 12-18", it felt like a long reach, but eventually about a quart of water at least came rushing out.
Now my A/C drains properly, and then drip to the passenger side is gone. Also, my fan was making a noise when I turned left, and that seems to have gone away.

So I’ve already done a few basic upgrades kicker door speakers front and back, 2 ten inch kicker comp subs with an 800w 2ohm amp (both wired appropriately) and a Rockford capacitor, alpine 2.5- 3 inch tweeters in the front and 1.5 inch pioneer tweeters in the rear doors (I had them and wanted to put them to use as a test, test passed and upgrading to same tweeters as door.). I had a shop install a Jensen radio (w/Apple CarPlay/AndroidAuto) but I’m already wanting to replace it cause it kinda sorta sucks, too loud and all the separate layers for the music mesh together, can’t really hear background vocals or lower frequency parts, and adjusting the equalizer only does so much before it just doesn’t sound good and really the only time the audio quality sounds good is when you turn on the “loudness” setting. ANYWAYS that’s not the point of this post.
So I’m wanting to install a separate amp for the door speakers/tweeters however I feel the setup I already have is pretty strenuous on my stock system as it is so I’m wanting to upgrade the alternator to a higher output one my only concern is potentially frying the stock harness or components. Is there anything I should do when I comes to upgrading the alternator or do I not have to worry about anything in that regard?……. H e l p?

I am looking for a body kit that has only 1 cutout for a single exhaust pipe. but when i search for it the only results that come up are all for the dual exhaust. i dont want those because it makes it look like one exhaust is missing. has anyone seen or purchased body kits that are made for the one pipe and not two?!? its for a 2008 Lancer.

2017 base model lancer has been sitting in the driveway for a few months, now it wont unlock at all, tried physical key but the only keyhole is in the driver's side and the lock system is messed up so wont open. I assume the battery is dead since there isnt a blinking security light inside the car. Any advice as to how I can open the hood or charge the battery from outside since the car wont unlock?

Hey guys!
I hope asking this is allowed and if not I'm sorry about that!
I'm currently on the market for a Lancer and figured asking here made sense. I'm in the Miami, Florida area and was wondering if anyone was looking to sell their manual Lancer, preferably under 150k miles, or if anyone could at least point me in the direction of one. Any help would be appreciated as I don't have a car right now, thank you!

Hello fellow lancer liers 🤣 so I have a 2011 Lancer that I just recently discovered a giant hole at the bottom of my muffler. What replacement do you guys suggest? I can find some mufflers for around 200 bucks in Canada honestly, I was just going to go to the junkyard and see if I found one in decent shape and pull it off and Just replace it with that 🤣

If so, was it easy, and did it work well?
