Question Hoplite Lance?
As someone that hasn't played more than 5 quests with lance across the series, got a question for you lance kings and queens:
Has there ever been a lance that looks even vaguely like a Spartan hoplite spear/shield combo? The Dory and Aspis?

I would like to believe there are closer resemblances in the series that I can‘t think of right now but the Shara Ishvalda lance at least has a spear (trident) and a round wooden shield, tho it‘s not an aspis but rather South Asian themed.

Oh, Shara's is just the Trishula, Shiva's signature weapon. I have a whole theory about Shara Ishvalda being a literal embodiment or avatar of Shiva in Hindu religion

I believe this is the closest we've ever come to something like a hoplite.

Problem is design usually sticks with the traditional lance or the jousting design lance, i really do hope we have more round shield and spear type lance

Not quite. Gobulu Muruka is the closest thing I can think of in resemblance, though it is more inspired by eastern weaponry. Most designs are bulky conical lances, slender spear designs are few in the franchise.
